Nizwa Fort Oman

Nizwa Fort is one of the oldest forts in Oman and lies in A'Dakhiliyah Governorate. It has a unique large round shape. Its height reaches 24 metres, with an outer diameter of 43 metres and an inner diameter of 36 metres.Nizwa Fort was built by Imam Sultan Bin Saif Al Y`aribi in the middle of the 17th century.

Nizwa is renowned for its silver jewelry, which is considered to be the best in the country. The people of Nizwa are masters in Khanjar making, recognized for its distinctive style and patterns, and noted for silver craftsmanship in general. Our tour guide Ahmed was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and we learned so much in this trip at the sites and also about Oman as well. He had a lot of enthusiasm and energy for the experience and made it very fun. It was a great tour and left me with a very positive appreciation for Oman.

As I did a customized tour, I visited only the Bahla fort and the Oman across ages museum. Both places were very interesting and worth of visiting if you are in Oman. My guide Amer was very knowledgeable about the history and the customs of his country.

Our private guide, Ahmed Alghammari, made this tour very enjoyable. His knowledge of each place we went to increased the value of our visits. He had a great sense of humor and was super friendly. We showed him some photos we found on Instagram, and he knew exactly where we needed to go to get those same shots. That saved us so much time! I’d definitely recommend this tour when you’re in Muscat. If you’re lucky enough to get Ahmed, you can expect a fun-filled day and you’ll learn things while you’re at it.

I had a wonderful day with Khalil As well as the main sites we tasted dates and halwa, and blue tea, saffron water and Omani bread. He is knowledgeable, a good driver and able to understand my Australian accent. I highly recommend him

Amazing tour with an amazing guide! Hamood was an excellent guide, very kind and knowledgeable showing us around and rushing for us to get back to Muscat on time to catch our flights. This is my second time doing a tour with Star Tours and they don’t disappoint! Totally recommended!

Had a wonderful day with ahmed who was very accomodating we stopped off in the anantara for lunch (which my wife loved the setting and scenery) and enjoyed the local history and market

I had a fantastic tour provided to me by Said Al Kiyumi. He picked me up in a car with the air conditioning turned up to the max and got us to Nizwa as quickly as possible. On each of the tours, he was extremely knowledgeable and had something valuable to say about all kinds of history related to each fort and castle. I highly recommend this tour. Big thanks to Said for making my trip so fascinating!

We walked around the sights coolly and efficiently in a comfortable car. The guide was kind enough to take pictures and videos. I was also able to learn about the history of Oman and the lives of its people.
