Depending on the size of your party you will either be in a luxury saloon or a high-end luxury tourer for a larger party. Your party will be able to customize their tour and your guide will discuss the best options for the day depending on your preferences.
The success of Diana Gabaldon’s “Outlander” novels, and the resultant TV series, has been something of a phenomenon and has brought a new focus and a virtual explosion of interest to many of the historic sites throughout Scotland. The Highlands is the centre stage of the unfolding story both in fact and the tapestry of fictional story.
You will visit the following places in the company of our driver/guide whose commentary will bring alive the relevance of these visits.

Abertarff House
Thought to be the Town House of Lord Lovat, (Simon the Fox) the house was built in 1593, and is the oldest house in Inverness. Simon, in the context of "Outlander," would have nominally been Jamie's Grandfather. In real life, Lovat was an interesting and colourful character, the subject of the book, "The Last Highlander."
Old High St Stephen's Church
In the aftermath of the Battle of Culloden Jacobite prisoners were held in the tower of the Church. Blindfolded, they were summarily executed one by one. Since this was indeed a civil war, it was not unreasonable to believe that wounded prisoners being held at Balnain House across the river may well have witnessed brothers or other relatives being shot. You can still see the mark made by musket balls in the wall of the tower. Brutality was commonplace.

5.00Hame Tours is a wonderful company to deal with on your trip to Inverness. Due to some family commitments, I had to modify our days and Andrew was very patient with my changes and very communicative. Willi Christie was our guide and driver for 2.5 days . Willie made our trip to Inverness and the surrounding areas, including a day trip to SKYE unforgettable. We experienced Scotland in a true local way and saw a number of things that I hadn't seen in any of my research, which was such a treat. A tour with Willie will be the highlight of your trip to Scotland. We travel quite a bit and he was by far the best guide/driver we have ever experienced.

5.00We were picked up & dropped off at the cruise ship right on time. This was an amazing tour. Andrew was a great guide. He took us to all the places we wanted to see and more. He gave us a lot of information about Scotland. It is a beautiful country.

5.00Michael was our guide through the highlands. We had crazy snowy weather and we still saw all the Highlander and historic sites. Culloden and Fort George are magical covered in snow. Michael introduced us to the Harry Gow bakery and some sweet highland cows and a few alpacas too. Thank you Michael for a wonderful day.

5.00We had an amazing day. Not only did we visit sites associated with Outlander, we visited Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle. Our guide was very knowledgeable about Scottish history and culture and even sang folk music for us. We had a perfect day.

5.00Our guide Michael did an outstanding job providing us with a memorable day. We got lucky with the weather (beautiful sunny day), and while we enjoyed the sites linked to Outlander, especially the Culloden Battlefield which was very moving, we loved the beauty of the Scottish countryside. A whisky tasting at Singleton was a nice treat, as was the 500+ year old Spanish Chestnut tree where we took photos. Kelli and I also enjoyed meeting "the real Jamie Fraser," who posed for us as only a Scottish Highland bull could! Wonderful day. Enjoyed every minute.

5.00Michael was an amazing guide, his knowledge of the area was extensive and we learned a ton about Scottish history. We had so much fun exploring with him all day, and he even made some on the fly adjustments to the route so we could detour towards certain things we decided we wanted to see. Highly recommend!

5.00Our Outlander experience was more than we could have ever hoped for. Our tour guide, Michael, was exceptional. He was so knowledgeable, funny, courteous, and thoughtful. The trip was much more than just seeing places from the Outlander movies. He helped us so much with our research on our Scottish ancestors. We are forever grateful to him for being so helpful and flexible. He's the Best! We will always remember that memorable day, and we are thankful to Andrew, who set it all up for us and helped us on our first day in Inverness. Fantastic company. Thank you!

5.00Steve C. was amazing! He packed as much of Inverness as he could into our day and got us back to our ship on right on time. He was so knowledgeable of each place we went and gave us an in depth history. He even phoned ahead to get us a table at a fantastic pub. He wanted to make sure we enjoyed our trip, reminded us we were on holiday, and hit all of our highlights. Thank you for an amazing time in the highlands!
