You will be pick up from your Dead Sea hotel to explore the rose-colored city of Petra by joining a small group, settle into your air-conditioned comfortable vehicle with your driver, who doubles as your guide on your journey to and from Petra, UNESCO – listed Heritage and one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

Experience Jordan’s greatest ancient treasure on this day trip to Petra from Dead Sea. After traveling from Amman to Petra with an English-Speaking Driver, enjoy a 2-hour guided tour of UNESCO-listed Petra: a rock city cut into a sandstone valley 2,000 years ago. Walk towards the “Siq” entrance canyon, and behold the rose-tinted Treasury, visit the Royal Tombs, the Theater, and more sites like the Byzantine Church. During your explorations, learning about Petra’s history from your local guide continue to see lesser-known Little Petra, whose sculpted rock buildings were a suburb of the main city.

You will leave the hotel early in the morning to Join a small group to drive south to the Nabatean Red Rose City of Petra, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, for a classic visit. As you travel, gaze at the desert landscapes and hear tales of Jordan’s history. Hewn into a sandstone valley carved by the Nabataean people more than 2,000 years ago, this ancient rose-red rock city located 245 kilometers from Amman at the crossroads of age-old trading routes, to dominate ancient Arabia. We did the private full day tour to Petra and Wadi Rum from Dead Sea. Our driver Basel was the best! He picked us up promptly at 6am at our hotel and personally requested the front desk to provide breakfast for us as it is a 3-hr drive to Petra from Dead Sea. After a very educational and exhilarating 3-4 hr walking tour of the Lost City of the Nabatean, Basel picked us up promptly to head down to Wadi Rum - another 2-hr drive from Petra. The camel riding was amazing in Wadi Rum was amazing! Definitely a bucket list experience. The 4x4 jeep tour further highlighted our experience in the red sand desert and we were able to see spectacular natural rock and sand formations and the most magical sunset views. We were also able to spend time with the kindest Bedouin people who offered us chai tea. The entire experience was otherworldly in the most amazing sense. From Wadi Rum, Basel had to drive us back to our hotel in Dead Sea which is another 4-hr drive! Despite the long journey, Basel remained in good spirits and made sure to stop for coffee, food, and whatever we needed. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Thank you Basel and Zaid Tours! You made the Jordan leg of our trip undoubtedly one for the books!
