National Museum of Ethiopia
You will start your city tour of Addis Ababa with the National Museum of Ethiopia. This is one of the best museums in quality and diversity of the exhibits. Archeological exhibits include the 3.5 million-year-old fossil of Lucy (or Dinkinesh – ‘thou art wonderful’- in the native language), a hominoid woman of the specious of Australopithecus Afarensis. The discovery of Lucy’s fossil in 1974 forced a complete rethink of human genealogy, providing that our ancestors were walking 2.5 million years earlier than had been supposed. The National Museum also contains many wonderful artifacts dating back to pre-Axumite civilization.
We continue our tour of Addis Ababa with visit to the Ethnographic Museum which is found inside the compound of the Addis Ababa University. This museum is very different to the National Museum, but equally absorbing, this museum exhibit, a varied array of artifacts and daily objects related to most ethnic groups living in Ethiopia.

5.00Excellent tour one of the highlights of my entire thirty plus day trip. The merkato is fascinating. Very chaotic, potentially dangerous and hard to do without a guide. But our guide Luel and driver Nebyou coordinated really well to make it possible. Saw all the highlights of the city, with a little time left over for a traditional coffee at the end. Truly a must do in Addis.

5.00Booked this tour for two of us during a short trip to Addis. We requested a few stops not on the suggested itinerary (Tomoca Coffee, Medhanealem Cathedral), which our guide Desale was happy to accommodate. He was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, and provided great historical background and cultural context at the museums we visited. He also guided us safely through Mercato, where we got to see local produce and some fascinating upcycling areas. We had a delicious local lunch at a nice restaurant he recommended. His English was excellent, and we learned he also speaks German and French! The car was very clean, the driver was friendly, and we were back on time despite the traffic. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Addis, especially first timers!
Highly recommend, very knowledgable, punctual and understands what you're looking for, perfect for a solo traveler.

5.00I went on a solo tour with Luel, he was a great guide, punctual and understands the history of Ethiopia, perfect tour, he bargained for me in the market, took me coffee tasting, took me to different museums and explained the history, culture of the Ethiopian people, I would highly recommend him.
