Mahabodhi Temple

The Mahabodhi Temple Bodh Gaya lies 115 km south of the state capital of Bihar, Patna and 16 km from the district headquarters at Gaya.It is one of the four holy sites related to the life of the Lord Buddha, and particularly to the attainment of Enlightenment. The property encompasses the greatest remains of the 5th-6th century A.D in the Indian sub-continent belonging to this period of antiquity. The property has a total area of 4.8600 ha.The Mahabodhi Temple Complex is the first temple built by Emperor Asoka in the 3rd century B.C. and the present temple dates from the 5th–6th centuries. It is one of the earliest Buddhist temples built entirely in brick, still standing, from the late Gupta period and it is considered to have had significant influence in the development of brick architecture over the centuries.The present Mahabodhi Temple Complex at Bodh Gaya comprises the 50 m high grand Temple, the Vajrasana,

The tour was very informative and i feel like we left off knowing more about the history of places than we did before. We were taken not only to historical cultural sites, but also to the new monestaries. The tour guide was also a very nice guy and went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable during the trip. Overall a very enjoyable trip.
It was a great visit.. from beginning to end till I let shanthi tours helped me and my tour guide babluu was amazing..

From beginning to end till I left gaya I had a very comfortable tour with the guide and management.. best 👍❤️ the owner helped me to pick a hotel and even helped me for my transportation and also made sure we were comfortable in all aspects

One of the attractions in Bodh Gaya is the presence of Buddhist temples from various countries, such as the Japanese Temple, Thai Temple, Tibetan Temple, and more. However, the most notable place is undoubtedly the area around the Bodhi tree at the Mahabodhi Temple, where Buddha attained enlightenment. The air there is very clear, making it a truly special place. I felt like I wanted to sit there for hours. Thank you for the kind assistance.

The owner was very funny and the tour was very polite and good. Also, the fact that they rushed over immediately when something happened is a big plus for me. I plan to use their services again in the future.

This was a best tour group, Shanti Tourism, and an excellent Bodhgaya tour we ever have had. First, let talk about the pre-tour communication. This was only the tour group went beyond the tasks list. Beside, informed us all detail of the tour, Kumar kept checking if we need any additional helps. He even offered us additional free airport transfers on different days and even from different hotels that I supposed to pay for. Second, Let talk about the tour. I supposed to have a full-day private guided Bodhgaya tour on a next day. But, Since we arrive to a hotel kind of early in the afternoon, Kumar offered us a free tour that evening to visit the World Heritage. With that chance, we could see the beautiful of temple in the full moon with glowing light. That was one of the tour that was not in the list and he did not have to provide. For sure, we would miss all the pretty of the temple at night with the day tour. In addition to the evening tour, he also offered us another complementary half day tour to visit the Buddha cave to fill out the opened time before going to the airport in the afternoon. We were very please not to miss that incredible Buddha cave. Now, let talk about the tour guide, Bablu. He was very knowledgeable of all places we visited. He explained in detail of the stories. He was very passion with his job and took care of us during the tours. Especially, he was very patient waiting every time we entered the souvenir shops. And last, of course, we could not have a great tour without a safety and patiently drivers who always waited for us at every visited location. We were lucky and thankful to book this tour with Shanti Tourism. They were not just the tour guides, but also the new friends to us . Highly recommended this tour.
