Nizwa Fort Oman
We depart Muscat to Nizwa, the old capital of Oman. Visit to the famous Nizwa Fortress. Today, the for is a museum that showcases the history of the fort and surrounding area. Walking through the fortress you get to see amazing views of the ancient town and the nearby mountains. This impressive fortress was a base used in the military to hold off the hardest attacks and seiges.

5.00We had a wonderful day with Mohammed Sulaiman. We didn’t do any of the planned itinerary as between booking abc doing the day tour we had already visited Nizwa. Mohammed was great in giving us a range of choices for an alternative itinerary and it was fantastic. One of our best days in Oman

5.00We spent the day with Khamis Al Wahaibi and genuinely couldn't have asked for a better guide — he gave us the best day of our holiday. We (a group of 3) opted for a private tour to make things easier, and it was well worth the money. Khamis was informative, considerate, attentive and relaxed. He let us rest in the car when we needed to, balanced with providing incredible insights into Omani culture. He made personal suggestions for how to tailor the trip to our needs, and even gave us a bonus tour of Fanja on our way home. He was a confident and sensible driver and was in absolutely no rush to drop us off — he made us feel really valued. I can't recommend him highly enough.

5.00One of the most amazing experiences we ever had! We went to: Nizwa souq and fort, Jabal Alkhdar, Barkat Almouz old village. Enchanting places and scenaries. The history behind these places adds to the beauty of it all and enriched our experience. Our tour guide, Khalid AlRaqadi, from sunshine tours was exceptional. He was knowledgable, funny, and made us feel very comfortable, he was also very accomodating and tailored the trip to our needs. Khaled was helpful to other tourists as well, which shows how Omani people are very kind and geniune.

5.00Our full day tour exceeded our expectations in every way. Our guide Ghusun arrived early at our meeting point. Despite having a long drive from Muscat to Nizwa Ghusun explained the history of the Sultanate of Oman very well and described his experience of living here. In Nizwa he showed us around the souk and we sampled dates and coffee and sweets. He then took us into the fort which was excellent. We then drove to a spectacular viewpoint before driving down to the date palms to view the irrigation system. We then headed up the mountain road to Jabel Akhdar which was the highlight of the day with amazing views of the canyon including a short walk through one of the villages. Nothing was too much trouble for Ghusun he looked after us as if we were part of his family! Definitely 5 stars

5.00This was one of the most incredible tours we have taken, we would highly recommend to anyone visiting Oman. We contacted Sunshine Tours the day before our intended tour date. Mohammed kindly arranged our tour with less than 24 hours notice, which was great. Our tour guide Hamood was so friendly and looked after us so well throughout the tour. Hamood is a natural story teller and gave us so much insight into the history, culture and heritage of Oman. We shared lots of laughs together too! We drove from Muscat to Nizwa and enjoyed visiting the local markets where we tasted the most amazing varieties of dates with Omani coffee. We then visited the fort, a remarkable landmark of the finest design and architecture, with the most amazing views. We travelled to Jebel Akhdar / The Green Mountain (2000 meters above sea level) where we enjoyed a delicious Omani lunch. After lunch we enjoyed the most breathtaking views of Oman from The Green Mountain and Hamood took some amazing photos for us. A truly unforgettable day out together!

5.00A wonderful tour from start to finish. The Nizwar fort and castle was terrific and the souk (which is in the same grounds) was really interesting, the Omanis are really friendly people and there is no hassle or pressure selling if you just want to stroll around the different stalls. The drive up and views from Jebel Akdah are stunning and then a visit to the fascinating little village of Birkat where you can wander round the abandoned farmers villages and get a sense of how they lived - wonderful little coffee shop up here as well - our guide Abdul was truly wonderful for the whole trip, a super friendly and knowledgeable guide, who we gelled with straight away. I would thoroughly recommend this tour and thank you again Abdul!

5.00Muneer picked us up from the hotel on time and took us on a wonderful experience. Really enjoyed the souk visit and the view from the mountains was wonderful. He was very passionate about sharing his country’s history and culture and he was very knowledgeable about the history of the fort. I would highly recommend this trip!
We visited few high mountains fortresses scenic views from mountains ear excellent food and lot more.

5.00It was a wonderful trip and worth money. The tour guide was excellent, he was very courteous and helpful. He even carry around our shopping stuff, made many trips to the vehicle to put our shopping in the car. He spent 12 hours with us instead of 8 hours. I will give 10 out of 10 for this trip on its value and service.

5.00We had a wonderful time with Muneer, who was extremely knowledgeable. The tour was well-paced, and Muneer picked us up at 8.30 am promptly. He also suggested a great restaurant for lunch which was vegetarian-friendly. The entrance fee to Nizwa Fort was not too expensive, at 5 OMR per person. We really enjoyed the bustle and atmosphere at Nizwa souk and the fort, and the views from Jebel Akhdhar were amazing
