Full-Day Private Tour in Petra with Hotel Pick-Up

Morning pick up from your Dead Sea resort or your hotel in Amman(we suggest you start at 7 or 8 in the morning) in a modern air-conditioned vehicle with a friendly and informed driver, drive south to Petra (drive time is 3 hours). Upon reaching Petra, you will be introduced to your professional guide (if option selected), and then start your guided tour, beginning with a walk through the long and winding Siq, until you catch your first glimpse of the impressive and imposing treasury, and marvel at impossible architecture that is over 2000 years old. Continue through the Street of Facades, the Roman Theater, the Royal Tombs till you reach Qasr Al Bint at the end of the colonnaded street, at which point your guided tour ends and you can either walk back to the gate to meet your driver for the voyage back, or spend some free time to relax or explore on your own before walking back to the gate and drive back to your resort.

Petra
Petra, the Rose-Red City, was the impressive capital of the Nabataean kingdom whose ruins remained hidden to most of the world until the Swiss explorer, JL Burckhardt, disguised as an Arab scholar, infiltrated the city in 1812. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as well as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. you will meet your private guide at the site (if option selected) and hike or ride a horse down to the entrance of the Siq, a long, winding sandstone canyon that leads to the Treasury. The tour continues to the Street of Facades, the Roman Theater and the Royal Tombs.

5.00Our consultant with Jordan Select (Ms Suha) arranged an excellent 2-week tour for our first visit to Jordan with a private car & driver. We rarely use agencies, preferring to plan our trips to suit ourselves. However - following such great Tripadvisor reviews we felt we should give the Agency a try! Presently in Aqaba, we have seen most of the important Jordanian sites and will return to Amman for our last few nights. Hotels they chose worked well, most were geared to large bus tours which didn’t impact on our stay. W were delightful ‘camps’ - glamping at its very best! The driver (Halil) was safe, courteous, always on time and we couldn’t fault him! Anyone who can cope with all the unmarked speed bumps without jeopardising the well-being of his passengers deserves a medal! The car was clean, modern and large enough to fit 2 suitcases in the trunk. His road safety awareness was excellent.

5.00Safely back home and by now well back into our daily routines, I would like to take the opportunity to express our warmest gratitude, appreciation and respect, in the aftermath of our tour/trip to Amman & Petra. A great 'thank you' is in order to all of the people of 'Jordan select tours' whose team work has rendered our holiday trip unforgettable and a special mention to Ms Suha, for being so good and explanatory through the prodedure (prior to our arrival), but especially for choosing for us that amazing gem of theirs, working as a driver, part guide, part assistant, part friend/brother/host/ - you name it and he became it... We have had our quite big share of travelling around the world, and have had to charter touring agents' driving services, across the continents, but Mr Ibrahim Fakhoury is by far the top of the top [safest - most positive thinking - calmest - well informed/updated, most helpful and anticipating to each and every minor need/detail that might come up (with the list going on and on...)]. Trust Mr Ibrahim to be there on time, to humbly say he is not a guide but only a driver when - in fact- we have had professional guides that knew less or were not as updated as he was, trust him to respond professionally to unexpected occurrences [perfectly informative when the police had blocked/cordoned off his way into our usual meeting point and had to change our point, remaining absolutely effectively calm and with a problem solving disposition, when our tour car door was violently opened by a roaming retarded kid demanding charity, are only a few off-the-top-of-our-head examples]. We were so blessed to have him...! In an effort, however, to remove any possible doubt from my so positive feedback, as to its objectivity standards, and if I have to find fault with their services, I would only mention that, prior to our arrival in Jordan, we had not been told that it was absolutely necessary to be carrying with us a printed form of our covid health certification, as we wouldn't be let into the aircraft, for there was an Amman representative at our airport, just before the airport gate, not permitting anyone to board the plane, without the printed paper. Luckily, we had been tipped off about it online and we were carrying one...

5.00We spent 1 1/2 days in Petra booked through Jordan Select Tours. Petra was fabulous! Jordan Select provided the absolute best experience possible! We were met at the airport and helped through the visa process. Then our driver, Hasan A., picked us up and drove us to Petra. He was an outstanding driver but also provided excellent background on the Jordanian culture. Samir was our guide in Petra on the 2nd day and was an excellent guide. If you are interested in visiting Jordan, this is the tour group for you!

5.00I had a fantastic trip to Petra with Ahmad Albayaydah. He made sure I had enough cold water, provided Wi-Fi in the car, and connected me with a tour guide in Petra who walked me through the site and explained its history. He even took me on a small detour to Shobak castle! I’ll definitely seek out Jordan Select again the next time I’m in Jordan.

5.00We had a wonderful experience with Ahmad Bayaydah from Jordan Selected Tours during our 2 days adventure in Jordan visiting Petra, Jerash and Dead Sea. Ahmad was super responsible and helpful resolving all questions and issues during the trip as well as providing a lot of interesting facts and details along the route. His car is in a very good condition and we were provided with water, juices, local phone and WiFi along the way. I strongly recommend Ahmad as a driver and guide in Jordan!

5.00First I want to say that this tour company went above and beyond in helping to design the perfect trip for 4 people. They were so accommodating with our requests and itinerary. As it turns out, our trip was to commence just in front of the covid-19 epidemic and 3 of my friends decided to bail on my at the last minute, but as this was a trip I had planned and my heart was already in Jordan--I went solo! Jordan Select was VERY accommodating again and made the arrangements for me to travel solo and have the most extraordinary experience. I would do it again and encourage others to do this too. Solo was fantastic--my personal guide and driver was fantastic, each of the site guides at Petra and Wadi Rum were amazing. The van was roomy and clean, and Firas was my wonderful driver and had perfect english and good knowledge about the US, Jordan, the world. He was a good conversationalist and led me through the experience like a kind brother. To say the least--I'm completely in love with Jordan and hope to return. I will use Jordan Select again....if they will have me!!!
