  We had an unforgettable day in Valparaiso with Cristian as our guide! From the start, he impressed us with his punctuality and warm demeanor. Cristian not only shared his extensive local knowledge but also took a genuine interest in our backgrounds, making the experience even more personal and special. The tour was packed with highlights – exploring the fish market, admiring stunning murals, and wandering through historic neighborhoods. We loved the variety of public transport we used, which gave us an authentic taste of the city. Cristian also went the extra mile, recommending fantastic places to eat and taking time to ensure we captured amazing photos. • Unforgettable Valparaiso

  This was one of the best all day tours we have ever been on. Cristian, our guide met us at the cruise terminal after we disembarked from Viking Jupiter. Cristian who is the owner of PataTours spoke impeccable English. His knowledge of Valparaiso was excellent. At the start of the tour we went to the fish market and met local fishermen who had some great stories to tell. We then travelled on so many different modes of transport - train, bus and funicular’s. We explored the city and met a number of local artists. We had lunch at a beautiful seafood restaurant which overlooked the city. The food was absolutely delicious and so were the pisco sours! Cristian took us to the places of his childhood. We also got the opportunity to meet his lovely wife and son at his wife’s art studio, not to mention a visit to his office where he played some beautiful music to us on his guitar. If you are looking for a first-class, unforgettable journey through the picturesque city of Valparaiso, then Cristian is definitely the guide for you.   It was a great experience. Catalina was an amazing, knowledgeable, and very kind tour guide. She sat with us for a few minutes and discussed with us our preferences for places to visit as well as telling us we would get there, that is, walking, elevators, trolleys, and buses. At end we got to see almost everything we wanted to see and she even took us to a store near our hotel to buy water. We had a very lovely long tour with her and great suggestions on what we could do on our the following day.

  The experience with Patatour was definitely excellent. From the beginning we had very good communication and were aware of all the details. Our guide Christian, is a lover and great connoisseur of Valparaiso. We had the beautiful possibility to visit the port and the cove as locals, talking and sharing with people, which is certainly something enriching. We really had the possibility to know the authentic Valparaiso, with its people, its lifestyle, its rhythms and experiences. The minibus ride was one of my favorites. Our tour of the historic Valparaiso was everything I imagined. An enjoyable walk, full of experiences and close stories. Discovering the gem of the Pacific alongside a connoisseur is an unparalleled experience. We marvel at every corner and every story.   Of course YMMV, but this tour was one of the greatest highlights of our 3 weeks in Chile for me and my wife. We had already visited Patagonia and Atacama, and thought we were beyond being wowed at this point. But our guide Paula did an incredible job introducing us to so much of the amazing and vibrant local culture in Valparaiso. Her passion for her hometown was clearly evident throughout the tour. And thanks to her, we got to experience interacting with locals at the fish market, students at the funicular, and artists along the viewpoints. Highly recommended!

  A wonderful day! Cristian was an incredible Guide, attentive to our needs and passionate about his work. We organized a full day private tour, and we couldn't ask for anything better. Cristian was born and raised in Valparaiso, and conveys in every word the love he has for his city, allowing you to truly feel like a Portenõ (name of the inhabitants of Valparaiso) for a day, and not a vacationer. He made us taste typical dishes, visit art galleries and the most famous street art districts. We wanted to avoid those tour groups and we were looking for something really authentic. Well Cristian and Patatour on this are a guarantee! Absolutely recommended. Thank you for the beautiful memories we will always carry with us ❤️

• BEWARE OF VALPARAISO CHILE

  The guide was good BUT did not warn me how bad the crime was in Valparaiso. Yes she told me not to take pictures in one area of the markets and to be careful about pickpockets. My husband died 16 days before my tour. He wanted me to do this trip. I was robbed of my husband's necklace with 3 charms on it and a $3,000 diamond necklace. Just what I needed after the man I spent 68 years with dies. He gave me the diamond heart years ago for Valentines and I wore his chain to have a piece of him with me. I don't know if the heart was visible because I put under my shirt earlier. If the heart was showing the guide should have told me. I also wore my diamond wedding ring. If there was that much danger, the guide Paolo should have warned me and not just told me not to take pictures in that area and about pickpockets. Afterward she called it an accident, no it was a crime. I never saw the man, just a quick grab of my chains from behind me. TOURISTS SHOULD NEVER BE TAKEN TO AREAS THIS DANGEROUS AND CRIME RIDDEN.

  One of the best tours we’ve ever done & Sebastian is the best guide we’ve ever had. He was so friendly & patient, spoke perfect English & made everything run smoothly. He even waited for us whilst we had lunch & then took us back to our hotel. Having a private tour meant that we could see whatever sights we wanted plus excellent suggestions from Sebastian - he whizzed us around super efficiently via buses, ascensores & trolley buses as well as walking through the street art neighbourhoods. It would have taken us at least 2 days to do it ourselves. We visited the fish & vegetable markets, Pablo Neruda’s house + lots & lots of street art.
