Al Khor
Also spelled Al Khawr means "sea on threesides" in Arabic. Older than Doha but far smaller in size. Al Khor is located an easy 50 kilometres to the north of Doha. It used to be the center of the pearling industry in Qatar but lost its importance after the introduction of cultured pearls. It now boasts a scenic harbour where you can find traditional fishing dhows, a corniche leading to mangrove colonies and a museum showcasing the fishing, pearling and dhow building industries.
Al Thakhira Beach
The mangroves colony is not only a major tourism product for Qatar but an important natural environmental resource for Qatar. It provides a natural habitat and a sanctuary for birds, fish and other animals as well as prevent coastal erosion.

5.00Our guide and driver Rehan Butt picked us up at the hotel on time. During the trip he entertained us with general interesting information. I really liked the stop at the sandstone figures. Continue to the West Sea, metal artwork and camel racetrack. He also took a lot of pictures of us. Generally an interesting excursion as a change from city life. Thank you Rehan

5.00Full day dedicated to the discovery of the north and west of Qatar. Our guide Noor was super friendly and is very knowledgeable about the history of this fascinating country. We shared a very comfortable SUV with two other guys. We did some beautiful off-roading and crossed some really fascinating desert areas. Super recommended excursion for those who want to see not only a super modern city like Doha but also the natural and historical beauty of this country.

5.00Our guided tour up to northern Qatar was an unforgettable experience – not least thanks to our young tour guide, Noor. From the very beginning, he took care of our group with great dedication and genuine warmth. He welcomed us punctually, explained the itinerary and immediately created a pleasant, respectful atmosphere. Throughout the trip, he impressed us with his in-depth knowledge of Qatar's history, culture and nature. His stories about the abandoned fishing and pearl diving town were particularly fascinating. The mangrove forests were another highlight for me. It was clear that he had prepared thoroughly for the tour and wanted to convey his enthusiasm for the country to us. He also showed great care in practical matters: he always paid attention to our safety, ensured there were enough breaks for drinks and patiently answered every question – whether it was about history, geography or everyday life in Qatar. His interest in ensuring that all participants were satisfied was sincere and clearly noticeable. His friendliness and respectful manner deserve special mention. He was always polite, attentive and humorous, which made the whole experience even more lively. Thanks to him, the tour was not only informative, but also very personal and human. All in all, this trip was a complete success, which I did not expect given the very reasonable price. Our guide really made an effort to show us the beauty and diversity of Qatar. I can recommend him without reservation and wish him all the best for the future – such committed and warm-hearted people make travelling something very special. Thank you, Noor!

4.00Abdullah was my guide. Communication was great. Pick up was late but I was notified and updated throughout. We visited all the places on the list and Abdullah explained history and facts at each stop. I enjoyed my tour. I don't drive so tours like these are excellent for me.

5.00Abdullah took us on an excellent tour of all the highlighted sites. He was very knowledgeable about all the sites, and more than that, answered all our many questions about the history, life, and culture of Qatar. He was able to pace the tour to meet the needs and interests of the group. He was also an excellent driver, including for the off-road sites. We wanted to feel like we had seen much of Qatar in only one day, and he provided us with an informative, interesting, and fun tour. Would highly recommend Abdullah and this tour to others.
