This is a full day* which sees you travel by land rover to the Banjul to Barra ferry crossing. This, in itself, is quite an experience as you join the hustle and bustle of everyday life on the crossing to Senegal.
Back on the land rover and on to the Fathala wildlife reserve where you get to see rhinoceros, giraffe, zebra, antelope and ostrich. Make sure you bring a good pair of binoculars with you for this trip!
The whole journey there and back gives you a unique insight into life as it is in both the Gambia and Senegal.

5.00I’d highly recommend the safari trip, and even more so the lion walk. I was travelling solo and it was easy to communicate with Armstrong to advise on a day I could join a group. The day itself is quite a long day, but planned well. The ferry and crossing the border into Senegal is an experience in itself. I felt our guide Joe prioritised our safety and made the trip very enjoyable. We were lucky enough to see all the animals at the reserve. All round, an absolute highlight of my trip to Gambia.

5.00We had a fantastic experience with Black & White Safari on the Fathala Safari tour. Our guide was absolutely lovely — very experienced, patient and incredibly knowledgeable. They really took the time to make sure we were comfortable and well looked after throughout the whole trip. Nothing felt rushed, all of our questions were answered, and you could tell they truly care about us and our experiences. It was such a memorable day and we felt in safe hands the entire time. Highly recommend this tour and this company — we would happily book with them again!

5.00We pre booked 2 excursions before we travelled to Gambia. Communication with Armstrong was excellent and any queries we had was fully answered. The first excursion was the 4 wheel drive adventure tour. This tour was excellent and I could not believe the turnout we got at the village school to greet us giving it was Boxing Day. We also visited a crocodile park, the Senegambia market, wood carving factory, paradise beach for lunch then a Gambia family in their home. We could have also visited a fish market but we declined. The second excursion was the full day safari. This was a very long day but a fantastic experience. I could not believe how close we got to the animals and our family carried out the lion walk which the memory of will stay with them for ever. We were very fortunate to have saffie as our tour guide on both trips. All the drivers and guides were good but saffie stood out as being very caring and exceptional. All in all I would have no hesitation in recommending ‘black and white safari tours’

5.00From start to finish on our holiday/anniversary Armstrong and the team were nothing but amazing! They all went above and beyond to give and help us to have such a memorable experience we will never ever forget, Jo the guide was amazing, attentive and understanding, so were the drivers (i forget their names, but abraham i think was one, but full credit to the whole team) The experience was OUTSTANDING and unforgettable. We always felt in safe hands, The team did anything we needed or required, giving us total confidence in black and white safari. I can HIGHLY recommend black and white safari....The Trip we booked with black and white, was the safari in senegal, with walking with lions, but also took up further trips and transfers with them due to simply how good they are and how they operate. We have have been all around the world, and have never had such personal contact and understanding from a company. if i could score them more than 10 out of 10 i would..... SIMPLY AMAZING (will add photos later)

5.00Very good experience with the organization. Were neatly on time to pick us up. Guidance was top everywhere, have learned a lot about the real Gambia. Safari was fun but more of a very large zoo where the animals certainly have their freedom.

5.00We are doing more trips with Black & White. They are a local firm, and know their stuff. We spent the day with Mohammed, and the most incredible safari driver who drove us through Gambia and Senegal and on the safari itself. Every single thing we could possibly need was done before we thought we needed it! It was great company, we were helped through the customs experience at the border and also had a wonderful meal in a local restaurant. It was the perfect day, and I'd recommend them so highly.

5.00Perfect organization. Pick up from our hotel by Black & White Safari and transfer to Banjul via 4x4 vehicle. River crossing via ferry then drive to the reserve in a real Land-Rover. Visit the reserve with a super ranger: it was a magical moment whose images will remain engraved in our memories. Sadness:) when the round is over. Water and soft drinks available in the Land-Rover, lunch in a typical Gambian restaurant. The icing on the cake , two thoughtful and great L & A escorts. Thank you to the organizer.

5.00An excellent, well-organised tour from Banjul into Senegal. Our guide was very knowledgable and efficient, ensuring seamless transportation throughout the day and navigating the border with minimal disruption. I would highly recommend Black & White to anyone looking for a genuine experience while in The Gambia.
It was a whole day trip, from the hotel picking up at 6am and drove to catched for a ferry to cross to Barra. Where we proceeded
