  Good sunrise tour of Tikal. Transfer there was ok, long queue to get wristbands to get in which meant that it was a bit of a route march to get to the temple and up the stairs before sunrise. Unfortunately (as is very common) there was lots of cloud and mist so there was no spectacular sunrise. However it was lovely hearing rhe jungle waking and up and enjoyed the experience 😀. Our guide was very knowledgeable and the Mayan ruins really interesting. Overall a good tour.

  I sent a message to the tour company 24 hours before to ensure they still had us booked as I didn't fancy getting up at 2:30am and no one picking us up, and they replied immediately confirming pickup details. The journey from Flores took a little over an hour and the minibus was completely full, and a little cramped, but this trip wasn't about the transfer. Make sure you purchase your Tikal entrance tickets AND a seperate sunrise ticket seperately, as there is no phone reception in the park. Upon arrival we had approximately a 40 minute walk, at a very brisk pace to reach Temple IV, and then one final push to climb to the top of it. Make sure you take a torch as the group does get split up a little due to the pace. Once at the top, the early morning start was 100% worth it. We were fortunate enough to see an awsome sunrise, and to hear the howler monkeys awaken was magnificent. After sunrise you continue the tour then at a more leasurely pace, with time to enjoy the scenery. Our guide was excellent providing not just information on the Mayan history, but also the wildlife we saw during the morning.

  Very pretty park! The guide was very informative, friendly, and fluent in English. The pace was good as well. We were late to our early morning pickup from the hotel, but the driver was understanding and accommodating.

  Great experience, our guide Carlos was very knowledgeable, we started at 3am and took a ride to Tikal to see the sunrise which is awesome experience as the jungle wakes up and the view is amazing. Make sure to buy a tickets to enter Tikal and for the sunrise entrance ticket at least day before. Definitely bring a headlight and some longer sleeves, mosquito repellent, water, snacks and hiking boots as you will be walking a lot, going up and down to see all this place has to offer.

  I had Louis and he showed us everything and was very knowledgeable I would do this again it’s the best. We saw everything we need to see and he was very accommodating Make sure you buy the right ticket for the park entrance and for the sun rise tour.

  We had a great tour with Luis! He was truly fabulous, ensuring that we saw wildlife and learned about the cast history. The pick up at our hostel was a bit unorganized but everything went smoothly once we were in the transport van.

  Really enjoyed our tour! Guide Luis was fantastic and provided great information while managing the cloudy weather for us and returning to some temples we had missed. Was very professional while dealing with challenging members of the tour group. Great drive. Only complaint would be to make the website to Temple for your tickets easier to find and confirm that a park and sunrise hike pass is required. But when I contacted the company they were very quick to reply. Would recommend!

  Luis was a fantastic guide … very informative, personable and a “Guatemalan Crocodile Dundee” as he had an amazing ability to find animals, birds, and was an expert on flora and fauna!

• Great way to experience Tikal

  The dreadfully early pickup from Flores paid off when we got to Tikal and were among the first groups to reach Temple IV, so we got good seats for sunrise. The weather didn’t deliver, but the howler monkeys sure did!! Incredible experience. We had 2 separate guides for English- and Spanish-speaking groups. Sam did a good job of giving us a few minutes of introduction at each part of the site and then letting us explore independently for 15-45 mins at each spot for climbing the structures, photos, bird watching, etc. This turned out to be much more of a jungle safari than I expected with all the parrots, monkeys, and coatis - a nice bonus! Breakfast was served at a small restaurant near the entrance just before heading back to Flores - good local breakfast served quickly (included in the tour price). We got back around 1230 pm. Overall a well organized and comprehensive tour - would definitely recommend seeing Tikal this way. Some tips: pack warm layers (you’ll be sitting on the temple for sunrise for around an hour), a headlamp/flashlight (you walk about 25 minutes through trails in the dark to reach Temple VI), plenty of water, and snacks - there was one little stand to buy coffee and sandwiches at the entrance, but no other snack kiosks were open inside the park. It’s a long time before breakfast and there’s A LOT of walking/stair climbing so you’ll get hungry fast. A separate van picked me up near my hotel in central Flores to meet the bus on Flores Island, but it wasn’t organized for the return - luckily when I mentioned this to the bus driver he took me back to my hotel after the drop off at Flores Island - just something to note if you’re not staying on/near the island.

  We did Tikal sunrise hike with guide Lloyd. He was great. Gave enough information and answered all questions. He was engaging and spoke both English and Spanish.
