5.00Semuc Champey was beautiful. The journey to get there from Antigua, however, was LONG. We had shuttle pickup from our hotel at midnight, slept the best we could for the 7-8 hours to get there (they provided pillows, blankets, and waters), then had breakfast with our guides and another couple before hiking through the jungle. Marcela was our English-speaking guide and was awesome, translating for us when needed and teaching us the history. Eneas was the Spanish-speaking guide for the other couple, but was very friendly and helped me practice my Spanish a little too. Once we hiked to the viewpoint (incredible), we went back down to visit the pools above a rushing river with the company of a local dog! The water was a little too chilly for us, but we had plenty of time to relax and explore the trails. We also stopped for food on our way back home and spent more time with our guides, and have so many good things to say about them. They were great! Definitely an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend. P.S. Take some snacks, bug spray and good hiking boots.

5.00A long journey but worth 100%. If you have time and endure long journeys it is a beautiful and magical place to see. My guide Aeneas always worried that I was comfortable on the trip and that I enjoyed the day.

5.00The tour was amazing! We left in the morning on a private bus and spent the whole day at the river. It was truly beautiful, I had a wonderful time talking and doing the activities with my guide. I highly recommend this tour if you’re looking for something personalized and with great company!

5.00Wow, one of the best adventures I've had with my friends has been with Nova Explorer. The guide Eneas Gonzales is super charismatic, very professional, and very enthusiastic about showing us the beauty of this beautiful country. I can definitely assure that it will not be the last time we travel with Nova Explorer; I am very pleased with the experience I have had. I can only say thank you and see you soon!

5.00It was a very good experience, I had no idea how beautiful Verapaz was until now, the tours were excellent the guide is very charismatic, friendly and we always felt safe in every place we went.. 10/10 did not hesitate to recommend them and to travel with them again 💕
