The tour lasts approximately 8 - 9 hours from departure to return.
After picking up you and the other participants, we will go by transport for about 2 hours until the first attraction, from there you can feel the fresh air, visit a historic cemetery and observe beautiful landscapes until before arriving at Charquini base camp which is located at 4800 meters above sea level, where we will start the trek of about 1 hour until we reach the Emerald Lagoon with altitude of 5024 meters above sea level, in this place we will stay about an hour enjoying the landscape while we eat the snacks, after that we will start the return of the hike and for the return to La Paz.
It is a hike of not much demand where you can see some mountains of the Andes Mountains and reach one of the best known Lagoons of La Paz. The altitude of the attraction must be taken into account is why it is also perfect for those who wish to acclimate prior to their ascent to Huayna Potosi.

From the meeting point to our first stop we have approximately 2 hours of travel. From this point it is possible to see the Nevado Charquini, to which we are heading, the Chacaltaya mountain and the Huayna Potosì.
After approximately 30 minutes of travel, we arrived at our second destination. Historical cemetery of Milluni in which a very important historical milestone for the development of Bolivia is remembered

1.00The van had very small seats and it was quite uncomfortable considering you have to drive for longer than 1 hour on a bumpy road. Altitude was a major issue, I felt very ill and went straight to the hospital after the tour. Plus, the day after I had to go to a chiropractor as I put my back out due to the very uncomfortable seats in the van. A complete nightmare..

5.00It is important to mention that it climbs to 5024 mts, which requires a physical effort if you are not used to trekking and higher in height, however, the guide Marco was super patient at all times, he waited for everyone regardless if some were slower than others, he was on the lookout at all times and we all managed to reach the lagoon and it was completely worth it, the lagoon and the view of Charquini is spectacular. It is recommended to bring winter jackets and raincoats, shoes and suitable clothing, temperatures vary throughout the day, we had snowfall and also sun, hat and gloves is also indispensable. They gave us a bread and cheese, a banana and a chocolate which was very grateful. We made several stops before starting the ascent to get acclimatised and I think it is very important that they do. Fully recommended and very satisfied with the experience and our guide Marco 10/10.

5.00Despite the bad weather (snow from the start). I had a really good hike with some lovely people. My only negative comment was that the description mentioned hot drinks, which we did not get. We did get a good snack bag. Gio was a good guide

5.00Fantastic tour. Well organized. Caters to people with different paces. They provided us with an excellent guide, eco sticks which were a huge help and snacks as well. The journey to the top is so worth it! It is like discovering an oasis in a desert. Highly recommend.

5.00I have a great time and the guide speak very good English and help me understand the whole day planning. Walking up 1 hour to reach the top at 5040m is not easy fest but there no rush and I make it to the top and see the calm Laguna and take plenty of photos for 1 hour before walking back down to end the tour. I highly recommend to go on this tour.

5.00A great day trip. The driver was careful and our guide took good care of us. If you're acclimatised to the altitude you will really enjoy the 90min walk up to the beautiful Laguna Esmeralda at 5024m.

5.00I highly recommend Feel Bolivia for this fantastic day tour. Our guide Patty was awesome and took time to explain the stops and spots we had the chance to explore. Great explanations in both Spanish and English. She was also very engaged with the group and helped take photos. Our driver Heider was fantastic and the drives out and back were relaxing. This is a great day trip to experience solo or with fellow travelers. Suggestion: bring layers as the temperature will shift. Hat, gloves, sunscreen, sunglasses and a fully charged camera. There are many great photo moments during the trip. I’m grateful for this awesome day and the Feel Bolivia team !

5.00This is definitely the second most physically challenging thing I’ve ever done in my life, but the view at the end was absolutely worth it. The tour guide was very kind and knowledgeable. He didn’t make me feel bad about taking a really long time to complete the hike (the altitude really got to me), and was super supportive the whole way.
