• Amazing tour with an amazing guide!

  My parents and I had an amazing tour of Linden with Cherry-Ann. She was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and extremely knowledgeable, which made the entire experience engaging from start to finish. Cherry-Ann did a fantastic job explaining the history of Linden, especially its importance in bauxite mining—from the town’s development around the industry, to the closure of the bauxite refinery, and how current mining operations function today. She shared these details in a way that was easy to understand and genuinely interesting. The drive to Linden was just as enjoyable as the tour itself. There was never a dull moment—she kept the conversation flowing with stories about daily life in Guyana, local culture, and broader Guyanese history, which added so much depth to the experience. The food was excellent and felt like a true local highlight. Overall, this tour was informative, fun, and memorable. I highly recommend Cherry-Ann to anyone looking to truly understand Linden and Guyana beyond the surface. Hope to visit again, Shiva

• Full day trip to historical Lindon.

  We booked our trip to Lindon a few days ago before getting to Georgetown and we're picked up by the lovely Cherry-ann in a saloon car. Aftercare small welcome chat we discovered the trip would be just for us. I was very pleased with Wanderlust for arranging what amounted to a private tour thatvwecqould have expected to pay a premium for. Many tour operators would have cancelled rather than go ahead with such a small party. Cherry-Ann was very friendly and very knowledgeable. She filled the long trip to Lindon with interesting facts and indepth information as well as friendly banter and chat. On getting to Lindon she stopped at every point of interest and took photos of us at every landmark. The tour took in an interesting abandoned aluminium factory, bandit mine, the small but interesting museum of Lindon. (If ever a museum should be in a museum it's this one). The market was interesting and we stopped at viewpoints across the river. We crossed a very old bridge and viewed the new one that opens this year. Dontcworry when you get to Guyana every one will tell you about their new bridges. Had a nice lunch and a beautiful hotel with amazing river views and magnificent mango trees before making our way back home. It was certainly a trip well worth doing and I would recommend wanderlust to anyone visiting Gerogetown. Tomorrow we do the five island tour.   We had an amazing time with Eugene. He shared his vast knowledge of the town and the beauty that lives there beyond the bluelake. Truly an amazing experience!

• A little underwhelming

  Maybe it was because it was a rainy day but the experience left us a little underwhelmed. Chris and Helen were pleasant and informative guides but after a long drive to and around Linden there wasn’t that much to see and do. We saw the remnants of the bauxite processing industry but the museum was closed. It was also too wet to visit the local market.

  This was a great experience. Our tour guide Francine was an amazing tour guide. She was in depth and taught us about things we never knew about Guyana. Guyana is a magical, destination with untapped territories. Lush with green pastures and the Kaiteur falls is nestled in between an amazing rain forest of natural beauty. It’s one of the wonders of the world!
