During a day trip to the northeast coast of Taipei, you will have an unforgettable travel experience! A professional tour guide and a driver will take you to visit popular check-in spots.
Shifen is a town rich in culture and history which provide a nice glimpse at Taiwan's beautiful natural scenery. You can create a Chinese Lantern (天燈) with a wish written on it to release into the sky. Besides, taste Jiufen history and culture, eat local food when you stroll in the old cobblestone street.
Also, visit the natural classroom Yehliu Geopark, which shows bizarre terrain formed by thousands of years of geological movement that force the mountain jutting out of the ocean.
Please note that if the Shifen Waterfall suspension bridge is undergoing annual maintenance, an alternative route will be taken, which may require additional walking.

5.00Our tour guide is Jerry. Before the tour, I reached out to him to clarify the pick up location and address for Uber. He was very kind to give me the information I needed. It rained when we arrived at the geopark, the first stop. The scenery is excellent. It continue to rain heavily for the next few stops. I saw all described in the itinerary with the extra challenge of the heavy downpour. I will include the rain as part of the experience of places in the tropics even though I was trenched from head to toe by the end of the tour. I had a good experience and Jerry is friendly, calm and does a good job of managing a multi-national group of 28.

4.00Booked as English speaking. But busses approximately 1/2 chinese. Guide spoke more Chinese than English, didn't understand much of narrative, but guide was very kind and helpful, didn't lose any of us and we saw all the wonderful sights.

5.00An excellent and convenient chance to get outside of Taipei to see the countryside. The meeting and bus loading was easy to find at a street corner outside the main Taipei station. Our guide, Maggie, organized a WhatsApp group so we had clear communication for all the logistical details. Also often used by people needing help finding their way back to the bus. Each stop lasted about 1 hour with ample time to wander around and visit shops. The Jiufen stop was 2 hours with time to find a spot for lunch with a view of the ocean. FOr me the highlight is Yehliu park where you get up close to the odd rock formations. The final stop was Raohe night market at around 5:30 which you can enjoy at your leisure. There is a nearby MRT station for you to make your own way back.
