Kiyomizu-dera Temple
One of the most iconic features of Kiyomizu-dera is its wooden stage, which juts out over the hillside, offering panoramic views of the cherry and maple trees below, as well as the city of Kyoto. The stage is supported by hundreds of wooden pillars, constructed without the use of nails—a testament to traditional Japanese craftsmanship. The temple complex also includes the Jishu Shrine, dedicated to the deity of love and matchmaking. Visitors can try to walk between two stones with their eyes closed—if successful, it is said they will find true love. 5.00It was a fun time, I left my phone in a bathroom by the bamboo forest and Ben was great, he called the place where I left my phone and they found it and Ben was great by going back to pick up my phone. He gave us lots of information of all the places we went to. The bamboo forest and the Inari gates were my favorites. I would recommend you ask for Ben as your guide, he is great and so knowledgeable and personable.

5.00Ben was our guide for our day tour of Kyoto and it was lovely to travel to the main sights in style. Ben spoke about the rich history of the area all throughout our tour and guided us to the best places for photos. We started at the bamboo forest where we asked whether we could also visit the monkies. We then visited the Golden Pavilion, Kyomizu- dera temple and Fushimi Inari Temple. Ben did an unbelievable job entertaining us for the whole day and took us to his favourite ramen place for lunch. He made my three teenage children feel welcome, remembered our names and took an interest in our lives as well. Ben’s tour has been one of the main highlights of our Japan trip and I would recommend this tour to everyone.

5.00My partner and I had Somei as our guide for the day. We had a wonderful day seeing much of Kyoto and Somei’s photography skills were expert ! We shared a lovely lunch and had a very enjoyable day together. Highly recommend.

5.00An incredible tour taken by Christine. Our group of 7 was picked up directly from our accommodating and given what I can only describe as the best tour of Kyoto. We saw all the best highlights and she knew all the best picture spots and places to try different foods. She was so friendly even with the kids and so accommodating of our extra requirements. I would highly recommend Christine for any tour you ever take our Kyoto.

5.00We had a fantastic day exploring the highlights of Kyoto with Ben. He is such a charming, friendly and informative guide. He picked us up from our Osaka hotel and drove us around in a really comfortable van. The sights were of course beautiful, but his insights and explanations made everything much more enjoyable than if we had been on our own. We stopped for lunch at a fantastic little neighborhood ramen place, far from the tourist areas. Highly highly recommend using this company if you want to get the most out of your time in Kyoto!
