Walls of Ston
The excursion starts from your hotel, airport, or meeting point. After a 1 hour ride, you will arrive at the little Medieval town of Ston where you will have a nice walk on the Ston city walls. After this walk of around 30 minutes, we will proceed toward the salt works. You will learn about the technological process of obtaining sea salt and its excellent quality. When the tour finishes we will drive to Klis castle before Split around 1h 30m.
Klis Fortress
Built into the limestone bluffs outside of Split, the imposing Klis Fortress(Tvrdava Klis) was once an important defensive stronghold between the Mediterranean and the Balkans. It housed the seat of many Croatian kings, though nowadays it’s better known as the film location for the fictional city of Meereen in the series Game of Thrones. This attraction you can see in 1h 30min. After we need to drive 30min to the center of Split.

5.00Mateo is so gracious and friendly. His car is very comfortable and he is a very safe and efficient driver. We made excellent time on the round trip and he was very flexible in timing so we could utilize our time how we wanted to. He’s given us terrific local tips for restaurants and local sights. If you’re doing a day trip to Split (or other activity) I highly recommend Mateo. He’s great with kids, and totally easy going.

5.00Mateo was a great driver. The car was comfortable, and he was very professional. I would highly recommend this tour. Split us a wonderful place to visit in Croatia. The old town is beautiful. The old port is beautiful.

5.00Mateo was an excellent tour guide! He put together 2 personalized tours for our group. The first was to Perast and Kotor Montenegro from Dubrovnik. The second was from Dubrovnik to Split, going through Mostar and hitting many other great sights along the way. A highlight was the lunches he arranged for us both days! In Mostar we sat over looking the bridge at Terace Legaro. The food was amazing and the view is incredible. He had the best table in the place reserved for us ahead of time. His tours are well thought out and well planned. He even sends pictures at the end of the day. He is friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. I highly recommend!

5.00Mateo was simply the best, he not only ensured we get to see so many amazing places, but kept the journey very comfortable, taking us through some of the most scenic paths, and at same time, explaining about the salient aspects of the place. He is well informed and an amazing sense of the entire region (not a single time, saw him using Google maps). We used his service while transiting from Dubrovnik to Split and on the way took us through the Botanical garden, Ston, Blagaj, Mostar, Kravice waterfalls. Would strongly recommend Mateo to anyone looking for a private taxi operator to travel across Croatia!!
