Start your impressive journey with White Temple, a world-famous temple in Thailand with unique white architecture. Continue to Blue Temple, an extraordinary Blue color with beautiful architecture, and visit Black House Museum, a museum about Lanna architecture and many collectibles. Continue to The Long Neck Karen Village, who migrated from Burma, and learn about the way of life on the mountain and how to survive in political wars. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant (Thai buffet) and relax at Choui Fong Tea Plantation, an oolong tea plantation where you can taste various kinds of tea and enjoy the lush scenery. Then travel to The Golden Triangle to see the view of three countries (Thailand, Laos, and Burma) with the Mekong River cutting through, and visit The House of Opium Museum, learn about the history of the opium trade in the Golden Triangle area.

Wat Rong Khun

“Wat Rong Khun” or “White Temple” is located in Chiang Rai Province. It was designed and built by Chalermchai Kositpipat, a Chiang Rai artist who is a National Artist in Visual Arts (Painting). It is a beautiful religious site with beautiful architecture and delicate art patterns, attracting many tourists to visit throughout the year. The Ubosot of Wat Rong Khun is pure white, which has become a memorable identity for foreign tourists, who call Wat Rong Khun “The White Temple” (Ticket price 100 THB)

Wat Rong Seur Ten (Blue Temple)

“Wat Rong Suea Ten” or “Blue Temple” was renovated by Mr. Phutta Kabkaew or “Salanok”, a local artist from Chiang Rai, a student of Ajarn Chalermchai Kositpipat (National Artist who restored White Temple). This temple has a beauty with its own unique applied art using shades of blue and gold as the main colors, including the beautiful architecture of the stucco craftsmen.

    So far, this has been the best tour I was able to find — it included the most to see in just one day. The route was very fulfilling yet easy to follow. James (our guide) was outstanding — he went above and beyond and made the day even better. Very professional, gentle driving, and a good sense of humour. We also tried Khao Soi at a very local place, and it was extremely delicious.
