  It was an incredible experience. We love to get to know Valparaiso with its colorful houses and street art and also the charming Vina del Mar.

  Right out of the gate Alejandro was super communicative. The night before the tour we received messages via WhatsApp that were in 3 different languages including a spreadsheet with pickup times. This was impressive as most of the tours we had been on this trip under communicated and left you wondering if you were going to be picked up. The cost of this trip was extremely reasonable. While the trip left Santiago early, Alejandro explained that this would give us an advantage as we would beat most other tour providers to Valparaiso and we would get pictures with ease. He was right!! The streets were empty and we had no trouble snapping photos of everything that we wanted without trouble of working around crowds. Later in the evening this was confirmed by another couple in our hotel who used a different tour company…..and they had great difficulty getting good photos because of the crowds. Lunch was provided and was average. While all of the scenery and history/culture are the are of this trip….I can’t stress enough how much Alejandro made the trip all the more enjoyable. Make sure to ask him about SlipKnot!!

• Lovely Day Tour but Avoid the Lunch Venue

  This was a lovely day trip from Santiago to the coast. At times it felt a little rushed in the time spent in each of the places visited and perhaps there could have been a little more of a relaxed approached to the day's structure. However, it was a good overview of Valparaiso and Vina del Mar. Frustratingly, after many attempts well in advance with the tour operator, it was almost impossible to get any response from them. Contact was received as late as 10pm the day prior confirming the pick-up time the following morning. This wasn't very helpful and was quite stressful - however it seems to be normal having no-communication with your tour guests in advance. This happened with another tour operator we booked with and along with the hotel we stayed at - not isolated experiences. The lunch venue selected by the tour operator was just terrible and overpriced. The food was bland and entirely unappetising - lunch for two people cost AUD$100, with only one alcoholic drink. The staff were lovely and pleasant though. Note to other travellers, don't go to the lunch venue, instead excuse yourself and walk a street back from the lunch venue and you will find a large array of eating places - all which looked far more appealing than that of the tour organised venue.

  After a busy week of conference activities in SC, I had a chance to go on the day tour with Valparaíso and Viña del Mar along with two colleagues. Our tour guide, Rocio, was knowledgeable and kind, teaching us the important history and what it means for today, while balancing the information with rest. Victor (our driver) navigated the traffic with ease even though it was an important holiday. The sights were incredible, and everything was thoughtfully planned out. Be sure to try the famous elevators if you’re not afraid of heights. And definitely enjoy local fish for lunch if you like seafood.

  Great tour! Loved seeing the two cities with all of their artwork. Alejandro was fantastic! Lots of personality and information! And the resto was also great! Highly recommend!

  We booked the tour thru our Hotel without knowing much about the tour operator. But we must say that we were very pleased, more than we had expected. Alejandro is a very friendly and cheerful guy. He knew a lot about the places we visited, and shared his knowledge with us. And he switched without problem from Spanish to fluent English. Marcelo is an experienced driver, and he conducted us without problems thru the heavy traffic in Santiago as well as driving on the steep and winding roads in Valparaiso.
