Embark on a exhilarating adventure near the beautiful Carite State Forest located only 45 minutes from San Juan. Your guide will provide you and your small-group with interesting historical facts about the Taino Indian heritage as well as the sugar cane industry as you drive by valleys and plantation ruins. You will zipline 3 different lines, rappel 80 feet down the gorgeous El Salto Waterfall and enjoy a home cooked meal in a beautiful mountain setting. Due to size restrictions on our harnesses and other technical equipment, we have a maximum weight limit of 220 pounds, which needs to be relative to the participant's height.

Due to uneven and slippery terrain, wading in moving water, standing near steep ledges and cliffs and hiking over sustained hills; this tour is not recommended for those with walking disabilities or using a wheelchair
The supplier reserves the right to cancel or limit your participation based on your physical condition. If this happens at the last minute due to an undisclosed medical or physical condition you will not be entitled to a refund.
Due to the nature of this tour and the safety of all guests, the tour operator reserves the right to refuse service to passengers who are intoxicated or show signs of intoxication. If, as a result, your tour is canceled, you will not be entitled to a refund.

Fast dry apparel is recommended.
Closed-toe hiking sandals are recommended, if you do not own a pair, an old pair of sneakers or water shoes also work.
At time of booking, Cruise ship passengers must provide the following information at time of booking: ship name, docking time, disembarkation time and re-boarding time, as well as what time zone your cruise ship will be using; i.e. Eastern Standard Time, Atlantic Standard Time, Central Mountain Time, etc.
Puerto Rico is on Atlantic Standard Time and may be one to two hours ahead of your cruise ship's time schedule, especially during Daylight Saving, when clocks are set back one hour.
Please be sure to verify what time zone your cruise ship will be using before reserving.
Refunds will not be issued if tour/activity is missed due to late arrival of cruise ship
Minimum drinking age is 18 years
We have a 24 hour cancellation policy. No refunds will be issued to last minute cancellations or no shows.

From your hotel in San Juan, Condado or Isla Verde, your guides will pick you up in a club wagon van and take you on a 45 minute drive to your destination, located atop a beautiful mountain range near the city of Caguas. After a quick restroom stop, where you will also have the opportunity to buy any last minute snacks, you will continue on your drive to your tour site as you enjoy the mountain scenery and lifestyle. Once you arrive, your guides will provide you with a helmet and harness and provide you with a brief introduction. You will then start hiking uphill to reach the river trail, where the actual nature adventure begins. Before entering the forest, the guides will give the group a detailed safety talk to prepare you for the upcoming activities. The first part of the adventure consists of an upriver hike through a spring water river and forest, where you will get to also climb up river waterfalls and hills using secured ropes until you reach the top of the El Salto Waterfall. Once you arrive at the rappel station, your guides will give you detailed instruction on how to rappel down the waterfall using secure specialized rappelling equipment. After the group has descended the waterfall you will hike down river until you reach the ziplines, a total of 5, which will take you back to where you started the forest hike. Once the group is back at base camp, you will be given the opportunity to change into your dry clothes. From here it is just a short walk to “Grandma’s” house, where you will get to sit down and enjoy a delicious home cooked meal. You are usually back in San Juan between 3 and 4pm, depending on the group size, speed and traffic conditions.

5.00This was an amazing experience! It wasn’t touristy like other excursions - it was small and personal. As long as you are in shape, this is a BLAST! Started with climbing up on ground + up small waterfalls. Moved into rappelling down, going zip lining (that were all built by hiking materials up and put together by hand). And then we trekked the remaining portion down. Highly recommend if you enjoy adventure!!!

5.00We did start off being asked to reschedule this tour because they didn't have anyone else sign up for our original day, so this could happen to you. We luckily were able to pick another day and I am so glad we could still do it. It was so cool! You do have to scramble and hike a bit (which we personally love), but they make you feel very safe. The tour is off the beaten path on a family's property and there is nobody else there but your group, and they really make you feel like part of the family. The rapelling was safe and super fun! And the ziplines were an added bonus. They also feed you a homemade lunch and alcohol (optional) at the end 😊

5.00So much fun! Be prepared to get completely wet. Water shoes are best(made the mistake of not wearing). Not super easy so be prepared but well worth the effort! Highly recommend.

5.00This was an incredible and unique experience! The hike up is not for the faint of heart, but the guides made everything feel safe and made sure we knew exactly what to do. The rappelling was amazing, and I would do it again. Make sure your shoes have good grip, and I recommend that women wear long pants. We will be recommending this tour to everyone we know!

5.00This was such a unique experience and so different than what we were seeing from other groups on Viator. Neither of us had rappelled before and the guides did an incredible job making sure we were comfortable and knew what to do. We would do this again in a heartbeat!

5.00They have genuinely earned their 5 star review. This tour was our favorite tour that we have done in Puerto Rico by far. The rappelling was extremely safe yet still super cool and fun for anyone seeking adventure. The hiking was also not strenuous but a genuine hike in the rainforest. The tour guides were knowledgeable and extremely nice and friendly. The homemade meal was delicious. I would STRONGLY recommend this tour if you’re seeking adventure in Puerto Rico!

5.00This was my wife’s and mine favorite tour on our whole trip. The tour guides were amazing a so nice! If you are looking for a little adventure this is your tour! Scrambling up rocks along the river, repelling down a 80 foot waterfall, and ziplining over the jungle was a blast. The smaller groups was definitely well appreciated compared to some of the other tours we have done. And who cannot forget grandmas famous cooking!

5.00We have done this excursion twice now and it is an absolutely unforgettable and unique experience unlike any other. This time we had fantastic guides (shout out to Patricia, Sally, and Sammy) who helped us safely navigate the day while sharing their knowledge about the flora and fauna as well as Puerto Rican history and culture. Incredible people! And the surroundings are breathtaking capped off by repelling down through a stunning waterfall. Once in a lifetime experience! We will do this on every visit to Puerto Rico!
