My wife and I did a good number of activities throughout this Panama trip, and this one was our favorite. The jungle and river are so pristine that you forget you are only about 1 hour drive from the city. The kayaking was fun and relaxing, the waterfall was incredibly refreshing, and spending time with the native tribe unforgettably rounded the experience. 10/10

We love to be off the beaten path and not in a touristic setting. This was a great experience, however, there are many tour groups is same location. Our guide Alex was great.

Very informative guide with attentive service all around. The indigenous community we visited was so gracious and the rainforest kayaking and waterfall was the highlight of the day.

I don’t think this trip lived up to its description. I booked it looking for a more active tour as we like to kayak and hike. The pickup was ok but the drive to the starting point took longer than expected because of traffic. The drive out could have been more interesting if there was some kind of commentary about the parts of town and countryside we were covering. But there was only silence. The motorized canoe ride up the river was beautiful but again no commentary. We got to the starting point and the kayaks were inflated. The kayaks were like heavy duty inflatable toys. The paddle down the river was more of a float then a short paddle up a tributary. We paddle as far as we could then had to wait as several motorized canoes were ahead of us with groups. When it was our turn, we scrambled over some wet rock for about 50 metres with two policemen there I think to control the crowds. We swam in the waterfall which was fun and refreshing then had to leave as the next group came in. A quick trip down the river by canoe to the village for lunch. I have been on this type of “authentic indigenous “ experience before and they always make me a little uncomfortable. Traditional music, dance, attire, food and crafts for sale. Good for them for making money off the tourists. There were other groups there while we visited. They are definitely well set up for crowds. Our guide indicated that close to 1,000 tourists visit that one village every week during the high season. But again little commentary. Back to our van for a drive back to the city in silence. This would be a good tour for someone who has never done something like this before. This tour could be much better if there was more commentary from the tour guide.
