This epic tour will start at the majestic Pico´s Fortress, one of the highest points of Funchal´s old city walls, Fort São João Batista, more commonly known as Pico Fortress, and ending at the president of Madeira official house. The fort was built between 1632 and 1640 when Portugal and Spain were under the same rule. This construction was built and used to protect the people and the land against pirate attacks. A brief stop will be made at the fort. During this stop prepare to be amazed by a panoramic view of the city of Funchal.
The second shortstop will be at Funchal´s Cathedral, having been built in the late 15th century, this is one of the few structures that survived the period of colonization of Madeira.

5.00Our driver was wonderful. Many fellow sailors on our cruise went shopping but we were taken on a wonderful tour of the Island of Madeira. Our driver was wonderful, spoke great English and showed us so much of the island. Would recommend him to everyone.

5.00We had a lovely guide/driver Luís who collected us directly at the cruise ship. He was happy to discuss possible itineraries and then took us in our way. Lots of intrresting chat, both personal and local interest. The tuk tuk was very comfortable too.
