Gallipoli Battlefield

At 11.45 The tour departs and proceeds by Kilitbahir Car Ferry across the Dardanelles. Before proceeding to the battlefields, lunch is provided at the Maydos Restaurant & Bar. After lunch the tour travels by air-conditioned tour bus to the battlefield area to visit; Brighton Beach, the intended landing place where you can swim, weather permitting; Beach Cemetery on the southern tip of ANZAC Cove, the landing place of the first wave of ANZAC troops and home to up to 30,000 troops during the campaign (John Simpson Kirkpatrick of Simpson and his donkey is buried in this cemetery). Continue on to Ari Burnu Cemetery on the northern tip of ANZAC Cove, here you will find the Lone Pine Australian Memorial that is on the site of the attack and capture of Turkish trenches by the Australians. View Johnston's Jolly Allied Turkish trenches and tunnels, 57th Regiment Turkish Memorial, The Nek site depicted in 'Gallipoli' movie and finally Chunuk Bair New Zealand.

Our guide Elcan was amazing. So much knowledge about the operations, people and battle defining moments of the Australian, New Zealand and Turkish armies. The ferry ride was first up followed by a very enjoyable lunch which was needed as the tour then kicks off. At times hard to fathom the number of soldiers killed on both sides for no real reason. All up a great experience

We had a fantastic day, with an extremely knowledgeable guide, Ercan Yavuz. Great lovely lunch and a comprehensive tour of the battlefields and it's history.

Beautiful cemetery, very well kept and interesting to read the gravestones. Most of these men were young when they died . So sad . Good to see the memorial too .

A touching place to learn about the history and the tragedy that happened to the brave soldiers. The marked cemetery has tombstones with touching messages, but none were sure if the bodies were buried there as some were lost at sea and some on land.

I was confident I had a quite good understanding of the story of the Anzac’s but the knowledge and level of detail that Ercan has is incredible With a fair bit to see he coveted everything so to anyone considering this tour I’d recommend thinking about the 2 day tour to truly soak it all in Oh and lunch was excellent at Maydos

We had trouble with our hotel and they, not only helped us, but offered us an *amazing* tour around the memorials of Gallipoli. Hülya was really nice and attentive and Arjan was an outstanding guide. Everything was organized, timing was perfect, and we had lots of fun. One month already passed and I have the certainty I will never forget that day 😄.

From the beginning to the end everything was planned and executed impeccably well by the travel agency. They were responsive to our inquires, and timely so. The highlight of our experience was our tour guide Hasan. He is supremely knowledgeable about the geography, the history and the war itself, and clearly cares deeply about honoring the lives lost and preserving their stories. He has a great sense of humor, very tactful and thoughtful. Our driver was awesome as well. We recommend with no reservations.
