We meet at Hostel Upperlink for a short introduction of our food culture, followed by a taste of the best fries in town at Frituur Tartaar. Once our guide tells you the story of the fries, you'll never call them French fries again!

Very commercial Begin we were told that you have to pay about 10 euros pp to the guide to support the local entrepreneurs Really doesn't add up Pair of fries 1 bonbon piece of waffle etc

Our food tour with guide Marianne and that was super. Marianne told a lot about Ghent and its delicacies, was enthusiastic and approachable. Great food and good tips received. Highly recommended!
Disappointing walking tour with very little "gastronomy".

Guided by Marianne we experienced the walking tour in a wet and very cold Ghent. Of the 13 participants, only 1 was not Dutch/Flemish speaking. Instead of opting for a Dutch-language excursion, with the occasional English translation for one person, the guide immediately determined that the tour would take place in English. Very disappointing because you missed typical Flemish expressions. Contrary to what was stated in the announcement of the tour, the guide immediately determined that the final amount to be paid to her should be at least EUR 10.00 per person. This is to avoid disappointments to us later. I suspect a disappointment towards herself. Found the dishes offered by the sponsoring companies, except for the fries, somewhat disappointing. The brewery was not open and they received a ticket for this while everyone indicated that they would leave the city the same day. Self-brought lawyer and mustard to taste on a freezing square in the wind is not really part of a "gastronomic walking tour" for me. All in all somewhat determined by the weather, a disappointing tour where the name tasting really should not feature. As a Dutchman we have the name, the gastronomy offered was very economical.

The guide Marianne was very good and welcoming. She knew a lot about the locations and the food. In addition, Marianne was well prepared. At locations that were not open, she had something with her, so we could still taste. She had also made a lawyer herself who was also very tasty. In short, a nice guide, educational and tasty tour through Ghent. Highly recommended!!

Marianne was absolutely wonderful. We had a great time!! We learned a lot and tried some great things. Family friendly and you don’t have to walk far.

This was an amazing tour. Our guide Marianne was friendly, funny, and very knowledgeable. Learning about all of the different foods we sampled was so interesting, and of course the best part was tasting it! Everything was delicious. There were even a few surprises that I won’t reveal here, you’ll need to find out for yourself. If you’re in Gent I highly recommend this tour!

Well worth doing! Would recommend doing if you want a sample of the staples of Belgian cuisine. Ksenia was a great guide!
