Great experience visiting the village of Annecy .. the old section is full of shops and places to dine with the lake not far away. If you travel on Friday or Saturday you might also experience the "market" day with vendors abound. The Geneva city tour is a convenient way to get an overview of the city layout and the mini train ride thru the old town is easier than walking up the hills! Remember if you depart from Switzerland to Annecy .. take your Passport and Euros as you will crossing the border with France.

The details are that we arrived at Place Dorcière at 8:45 for our 9am tour. The only info we had was “Place Dorcière” and that the tour was operated by Key Tours. We found many buses labeled Swiss Tours, Baba Car tours, etc, but nothing labeled “Key.” We circled the parking lot multiple times looking for someone holding a placard or flag, but found no one who seemed to be seeking passengers. We then stood by the fountain next to the Place Dorcière sign until 9:01, at which point I texted (via chat connected to ticket under “contact your operator”) the tour operator for assistance. I received no reply. We walked over to what appeared to be a bus station and stood in line to ask for further assistance. We noticed someone flagging down a Swiss Tours bus as it pulled out and I happened to glance at my watch it was 9:09. This is important, because it turns out that that Swiss Tours bus was the bus we should have been on (NOT a Key Tours bus, although the ticket stated the tour was operated by Key). At 9:12, we reached the front of the line and were directed across the street (to an address different from Place Dorcière, where we had been instructed to go), found the key tours operator who told us we had missed our tour. There was no line. She was not busy. I asked whether she had received my text at 9:01 (to which she had not replied). She said that she had, but it was too late as the tour left at 9:02 Not only was this an outright lie, as we had actually observed the Swiss Tours bus pull out at 9:09, but it does not explain why she failed to respond to my outreach. She refused to refund our tickets, stating obnoxiously that “others had found the bus.” I strongly suspect that those who found it had better instructions than we did, perhaps being notified that the bus would say Swiss Tours, or perhaps being provided with the correct address of Key Tours in the first place (Rue Francois-Bonivard 8). I told her she should be ashamed of herself for treating us this way at which point she refused to speak to us any further. I have used Viator quite a few times in quite a few countries. I have never experienced anything such as this. Not only am I requesting a refund, I strongly urge Viator to reconsider its engagement with Key Tours. At the very least, Viator should insist that Key Tours provide accurate instructions including accurate address and the fact that it uses a Swiss Tour -branded bus.

Excellent choice if you want to briefly! visit the magnificent town of Annecy and get the taste of Savoie region. If you want to relax and enjoy both the town scene and! the lake area - tough luck(. Not enough time. The Geneva part of tour is sufficient, satisfactory, and somewhat tricky due to unpredictable traffic. The lake tour part with the boat is very nice and picturesque, but no guide. Btw, our guide Gabriel was a very sweet and knowledgable man. He was very positive and accomodating.
