  I have been to 31 countries, and Lim is by far one of the best guides I have ever had! He is truly passionate about Penang and its rich history. He also knows all of the best local spots to eat, and we were able to stop at several places to try some of the best food the island has to offer. Lim takes the time to get to know each of his guests and personalizes the experience. His dedication as a guide goes far beyond any tour I have ever experienced. He truly loves what he does, and it shows! My trip to Malaysia was the trip of a lifetime—not just another country checked off the list—thanks to Lim!

  

  

  

  

• Must see Georgetown

  I really enjoyed this tour. It was a great introduction to all Georgetown has to offer. The guide was knowledgeable and we were able to see and learn a little bit of everything-history, temples, food, local artists-highly recommend!

  We had a great time with Lim on the tour. There are so many stories in every corner and building in Georgetown, Lim knows them all. If you walk into the city on your own you take nice photos, but you don't know the stories behind them. This city is so compact and full of intercultural history and everyday life - you will miss so much if you don't take a tour. The programme of the tour is perfectly balanced, with good timing for having a small break as well. He also shows some nice foodie stops you can explore on your own later, but this isn't a food tour where you are full after the third stall with 5 more to come. Which is good. This isn't a tour by car neither - which absolutely makes no sense in George Town. Communication before and after the tour via whattsapp was a bliss and very helpful.   Lim is a knowledgeable, energetic, and caring guide. He will tell you all about the history of Penang, starting from the time British ships docked at the port and shot silver coins into the jungle, to the harmony of different culture. He’ll also share that the Victoria Clock Tower is still wound by hand every day, explain the architectural structure of Penang’s houses, and recount the history of each building, the name origin of love lane, harmony street. As a lifelong local of Penang, Lim also takes you to excellent foods, recommends signature dishes, and even lead me to Michelin-listed Indian street food, Samosa. Since I was the only one there that day, he made a point of explaining everything in my native language, Chinese, and even used a translator many many times to help me understand. With Lim by my side, I didn’t have to worry about anything. You’ll get to experience the incredible friendliness of the people of Penang. His guiding was the most interesting and unforgettable chapter of my trip. I hope Lim stays healthy and can continue to introduce more people to the fascinating culture of Penang!

  Guide Lim is very knowledgeable and provides an excellent tour. The walking was too much for me (injured my leg) so Lim was very flexible to adjust the tour so we could use tri-shaw. Highly recommend.

  Lim guided us on foot through Georgetown and told us hugely interesting stories and details on the numerous historic sites that he showed us. He made this cultural gem accessible for us in its diversity and rich cultural heritage.

  Lin was a great guide, interesting, informative and fun. The experience was great and we learnt a lot about the history, cuisine and culture of George Town. A great start to our stay and would highly recommend.

  My spouse and I were fortunate to have JS be our guide during our very first visit in Penang. Wearing a cowboy hat to make himself visible, he waited for us under the Queen Victoria Clock tower 15 minutes ahead of schedule. We literally started early and he spent far more time than expected, escorting us on feet through the most interesting areas of Georgetown. A knowledgeable, caring and diligent local, he focused on various cultural and historical aspects of Penang, without losing sight of the weather, our hydration, comfort and safety crossing busy streets seemingly so challenging to infrequent visitors like us. From street hawkers serving up coconut and other fruit drinks at the Family Bridges, to street food stalls in Little India, JS methodically arranged snacks, bathroom breaks and well timed rests at cool lobbies, making our 4 hour long walking exploration so enjoyable and enriching. His deep knowledge and zealous explanation of landmarks throughout the UNESCO designated parts and beyond very fulfilling. The methodical planning of routes, timely pauses for photos, and his attentive way of guiding us has truthfully allowed us to experience double of what we had expected from our short stay. His heartfelt passion of this lovely treasure of Asia has been shared by us. In fact, I have already made my decision to return before long, to engage his expertise to help us explore a wider areas and more interesting sites and celebrations for which Penang is famous - the Buddhist Temple further west, and the prolonged celebrations of the Chinese New Year for instance. We are very appreciative of his extra efforts to ensure we had a later dinner which was not even part of the tour. We would highly recommend JS, are sure that with his guidance, our enthusiasm will be felt by any new or even returning visitors to Penang too.

  This is a great tour to learn about Georgetown and Penang . The leader, JS, is incredibly knowledgeable and his passion for the area is obvious in everything he shares. We enjoyed learning the history, as well as picking up Michelin-rated Samosas and nutmeg tea (a little sweet for our American taste, but definitely worth trying!). Also loved that he brought us a number of brochures about the area to help us figure out what to do next (plus he has great advise). Don't let the small number of reviews concern you...JS is relatively new to guiding, but he is outstanding! Highly recommend.

  I enjoyed the city walk thanks to Mr Lim who is a very good guide with good historical knowledge, enthusiastic, friendly and professional. Perfect if you want to learn more about George town and country's history in general. I recommend 100%.
