It is an excellent choice for experiencing the magical Sólheimajökull glacier in your own pace and in a very small group. You will get to see and photograph unique ice formations, jagged ridges, and color of blue-ice and black sand from the past volcanic eruptions. During the hike, you will learn more about the glacier and have lot of fun! The hike is suited for almost everybody

Once we all gather at Sólheimajökull parking lot, we will take a 20-min to the spectacular glacier’s tongue where we will do a safety briefing instruction and help you gear up. The hike is relatively easy and can be done by almost anybody. We will be exploring the glacier for around two hours. On the top of the glacier you will be able to experience the world like never before! Then, we will head back to the car where you can relax, enjoy Icelandic snacks, and have a warm cup of coffee.

Evan did an amazing job. The had all the facts we wanted and showed us all the fascinating features. He was always being considerate of our safety. Can not recommend this small group tour enough! We were extra lucky to be the only people on the tour.

Best Glacier experience for the entire family! Our guide, Evangelos, was not only full of knowledge but also adventurous while keeping safety a top priority. Our family hiked the glacier and took amazing photos along the way. This is a must!

We had such a wonderful glacier hike with our guide — truly a pleasant and memorable experience. We felt completely safe the whole time and appreciated that our guide genuinely wanted to show us more than just the basics. It never felt rushed or like we were just watching the clock. I can really recommend booking the small group experience, just like we did. You get so much more attention, time for conversations, and all your questions answered — plus plenty of time to take photos without feeling hurried. It was amazing from start to finish. Absolutely worth paying a little extra for a smaller group — you won’t regret it, I promise. Great experience. Hiking on a glacier is a special experience. Tour guide made it even better. He always made sure we were safe, while trying to give us the best experience. Provided us with all the necessary equipment. Very friendly and pleasant person. 10/10 overall experience

Vaggelis is an amazing guide, very relaxed but also safety oriented. We did a long hike on the glacier including some climbing with ropes, we saw how an ice screw works and heard interesting facts about the ice and the volcano. Definitely recommend!

This was already recommended from a friend, but we were still not prepared for how AMAZING it would end up being. Vaggelis (the guide) really took the extra step to make this super interesting around the glacier and take us to places the other tours didn't go! A person that enjoys what he is doing!

We had a terrific glacier hike with Evangelos. We had to reschedule because of the weather (very strong winds and rain) and Hyperborea was very accommodating- choice of refund or reschedule to what was convenient for us. The tour ended up being just the three of us and Evangelos. He was able to completely tailor the hike for us. We saw more than most of the other large groups we passed near the start and end of our hike, and we even did a little “climbing”. Evangelos was very knowledgeable about the glacier and pointed out interesting features and sights. Overall an amazing experience, I fully recommend Hyperborea for guided glacier hikes!
