Our Licensed native English speaking will meet you at 10.00 AM in the lobby of Your accommodation in Taormina, Giardini Naxos or Letojanni. After 20 minutes driving with 8 seats air-conditioned minivan you will reach Forza D’Agrò, a real and authentic small Sicilian village. Take a Walking tour of the old town and visit the places where The Godfather movie was played. After a Walking tour of the village with explanation of Sicilian authentic culture and way of leaving You will drive towards Savoca, the second Sicilian small village where the movie was played. The famous Bar Vitelli where Michael Corleone met the father of his future wife Apollonia. Then walk 5 minutes to reach Saint Lucy Church where they got married. While taking the walking tour Your Guide will introduce you the real history of Sicilian Mafia, how it grows up and spread very fast all around Italy. You will listen about the real structure (cupola), about its Boss and about the Mafia clan wars to control the territory. You will discover how 2 Sicilian Officers (Falcone and Borsellino) thanks also to some “Mafia repented men”, were very near to discover the truth about Mafia and its collusion with Italian politicians. You will know how it really ended up with them. After the Walking tour you will stop in a nice elegant food venue. Here you will be served a typical Home-Made Sicilian Plate of Pasta and a Glass of red wine while enjoying authentic panoramic views of town. After light lunch in 30 minutes driving You will be dropped off in your accommodation. Expected return is around 15.00.

Great day out, especially good that it’s only a small group (8). Giovanni was a wonderful host with loads of information about the film locations and Sicily in general, he also ensured that the pace was suitable for everyone. The trip was rounded off by a super lunch. If you have the time we would thoroughly recommend this trip from Taormina

A lovely slow day. Not too much to see but the small quiet villages were nice to explore and we enjoyed our family time. The pasta lunch was nice nothing to write home about. Our guide was academic and knowledgeable. If you’re looking for a big experience this is not your thing, but if you have many days to spend this could be a good addition.

I admit i didn’t remember much about the godfather movies but some friends were interested in this tour. But I really enjoyed seeing some of the small towns and hearing stories about the Mafia. Our guide, Carlos, was great. While there was a decent amount of walking with steps and hills, he made it manageable for a couple of our group with mobility constraints. At one point they paid 10 euros for a putt putt to take them up the hill. Lunch was great - bruschetta, fantastic pasta, canolli and a glass of wine.
