  Denis was the most excellent Tour Guide. From the initial booking to the end of our holiday (and beyond) he couldn’t have done more. He is extremely knowledgable and our whole trip was professionally and seamlessly organised. We would highly recommend Pearl Nature Holiday and we will definitely be using the Company for our next trip to East Africa.

• Beautiful Uganda

  I and my boyfriend took part in David Safaris’ eight-day Uganda trip, and our tour guide/chauffeur Addison is a professional and responsible person. The road is difficult to walk, the driver must be patient and driving experience, and we are satisfied with the accommodation and the journey they arranged. Also thanks to Addison's efforts, I saw that I was looking forward to the long-awaited American leopard... It was very happy!! We were also impressed by the hiking tour of other chimpanzees and silver back gorillas. Uganda is a very beautiful African country, looking forward to the opportunity to visit again and strongly recommend David Safaris and Addison.

  My family and I just returned from an exceptional 12 days with Denis who is now our good friend. He made everything about the trip so interesting and enjoyable from the gorilla and chimp treks, school visits and of course the safaris. Denis knew I was nervous about the trek( I am 80). He was able to get us on a trek that was only 45 minutes. With the help of two porters, we were able to spend an hour with a gorilla family- an experience I will never forget. We felt so safe and well cared for with Denis. The lodges were all beautiful and the food excellent. Even my picky son always managed to find something he liked.   I've just come back from an amazing vacation, planned with the assistance of Denis of Pearl Travel....I started communicating with him 6 months prior to travel, he was nothing short of BRILLIANT. Communication was efficient, and constantly available to answer my many questions as i was planning and prepping for this big adventure - that wasn't cheap. I was cautious but he made me feel safe and confident in his services and arranged everything perfectly. Initially i was changing the itinerary continually as it was evolving into what i wanted to do and see and he was patient and always available to advise and take on board all the changes along with offering great suggestions. Denis was our point of contact in person in Entebbe and when he wasn't with us he had made arrangements for other equally professional counterparts. We had a guide called Emmanuel in Bwindi who picked us up and took us through the whole gorilla trekking process until we were back on our flights to the next destination. Highly recommend Pearl and am happy to speak to anyone in person about my experience should you have any specific questions.

  I wanted to come to Uganda to see the gorillas, and after reading several reviews of several tour agencies, I chose Pearl Nature. Tour guide Denis arranged a visit to the Gorillas and so much more. He chose excellent lodges for me and was by my side most of the time and when he was not then he had another person to be with me. I was never alone as a solo traveler, and I always felt safe. The experience of seeing the gorillas exhilarating, and I met some local tribes and a boat ride to see the shoe bill bird Pearl nature holidays is an excellent outfit and Denis knows how to plan, a trip of a lifetime especially for me

  This holiday exceeded all expectations, 12 days, 2,000 km, we saw so many amazing wild animals and stayed in some unique eco lodges with the pinical of the holiday being the gorilla tracking... Our guide Denis spoke very good English, was very knowledgeable and tended to our every need....

• Amazing Gorillas

  Gorilla treking in Bwindi National Forest was an amazing experience. It is vastly different than being on Safari - i highly recommend this. We took a medium trek which was just perfect. We started in Kigali, Rwanda as it is closer to Bwindi than driving from Entebbe. The border crossing was easy. We got the East African Visa from the Rwanda government office. This visa is good for Rwanda, Uganda and Kenya - costs $100. At first this was unclear but after we filled out the papers online we received confirmation in 24 hours by email. At the ariport in Kigali we got the visa in our passports asap! No need to go through a tour agency for the visa which costs more money. There is also mixed information online about covid tests for Uganda - currently there is no need for a PCR test. But do have your yellow fever certificate and take Maleria medicine as this area is known to have maleria. We used Rent A Driver in Uganda for all transport and hotel reservations. I gave them the lodges i wanted and they made the bookings - it all worked very smoothly. Do not miss this adventure!

• Trip of a lifetime

  It must be said my wife and I approached this with a singular desire to see Gorillas in their natural habitat. What we did not expect, and this is solely a result of Denis from Pearl Nature and both his excellent planning and wonderful character, was to fall in Love with everything about Uganda. Denis took us on an adventure filled with breathtaking landscapes, an abundance of wildlife from the tiny weaver birds to birds of prey to the prehistoric looking but captivating Shoebill, hippos, warthogs, lions, chimps, cobs, golden monkeys, buffalo, elephants and of course gorillas. The list goes on. We trekked, sailed and was driven to some of the most wonderful places. We stayed in lodges on hills and mountains overlooking impenetrable forests, stunning lakes and beneath a sky full of stars. All of this was underpinned by Denis who provided insightful history and cultural facts as well as wonderful humour and genuine warmth. Uganda is a delight and its people full of an infectious joy. Denis himself is professional and we genuinely feel this would not have been the trip of a lifetime that we will forever remember had we not booked with him but gone through some faceless agency based in the UK. As you can see from the length of this review we struggle to truly put in to words how good this trip was. Our sincere thanks goes to Denis.
