Your Grand Turk sightseeing tour starts at the tram station near the cruise terminal on the southern end of the island. After boarding the open-sided tram, set off on a route that takes you all the way up to Grand Turk’s northern tip. During the tour, your local guide will narrate with fun facts and information about the island, pointing out old churches, inns, cannons, windmills and other historical attractions, and helping you spot wild horses and donkeys. Pass by Governor’s Beach and the Space Capsule on your way to Cockburn Town, where you’ll stop to enjoy a cool drink (not included in tour price) and food tastings by local merchants. You’ll also have the chance to shop for gifts and souvenirs. Then hop back on the tram to continue north, passing by Her Majesty’s Prison, built in the 1830s, and the National Museum, housed in a colonial building. Travel by Crabtree Park and North Creek on your way to the Grand Turk Lighthouse, perched on the northern end of Grand Turk. Built in 1852, it’s the only lighthouse in the Turks and Caicos. After snapping a few photos, head back down the island. The journey through Grand Turk also takes you past the island’s salt ponds, known as ‘salinas.’ These remnants of the country’s old salt industry are now home to flamingos and other tropical birds. As you go by them on the tram, your guide will tell you about the natural formation of the saltwater ponds and about the history of the industry, which dates back to the 1600s. Your tour ends with return to the tram station.

1.00TripAdvisor took the reservation, but the tram hadn't been running in over 3 weeks as it was having mechanical issues. Now I have to worry about trying to get a refund and had to find another tour at the last second. Not fun

4.00It was an entertaining experience on the tram. We had more stops than was expected due to tram problems - Doug said there was water in the fuel tank. However, we were able to see the entire island and had a good experience.

1.00We had to walk a very long way to get to the tram only to find out it was broken down, and the tour was canceled. We then had to walk a very long way back to the cruise ship.

1.00We showed up at the meeting place and waited 30 minutes to 45 minutes to be told the tram had broken down and the tour was canceled. We were told we would get a refund still waiting to see that it's been a couple of days I'll give it one or two more before I file a dispute with my credit card

1.00The team broke down prior to our arrival. There was no on there to greet us and tell us. We would like a refund but have no way to contact them.

1.00We were expected to be there for 9 to leave. Went 15 min earlier. Were not met until 9 and then were informed the start time was 915 . Driver did not come until 930 to then inform us the tram was broken. Said that he would attempt to find an alternate tour. In the end had to figure it out ourselves. Refund was given very quickly

4.00Our driver guide was very informative being a long term native of the island. For the cost of $25 compared to the same excursion from the ship at $79 it was good value to. We saw everything the island had to offer.

3.00The guide was kind, and friendly. However, his tram is old, and needs attention. The engine was loud and the microphone system kept stopping about as often as the tram STALLED. He had to go to the engine and tap the —— to restart it no less than 20 times during our tour. The rear car couldn’t even understand his voice was garbled. He drove past things while you’re trying to hear what it is, without stopping (or pausing) for photos.; Perhaps so the engine wouldn’t stop. He said a lot of words but as you’re cruising past, say like the space shuttle you couldn’t snap a photo. He said his other trams are being upgraded. If that’s the case the next season will be great. He had a great attitude, but Betsy (his tram name) not so good. The island is just what you’d expect. Small and full of kind people. Shopping and crafters. Easy lookabout. Would you recommend to a friend. Yes if he fixes his tram. No if he still has the same issues.
