Your Grand Turk sightseeing tour starts at the tram station near the cruise terminal on the southern end of the island. After boarding the open-sided tram, set off on a route that takes you all the way up to Grand Turk’s northern tip. During the tour, your local guide will narrate with fun facts and information about the island, pointing out old churches, inns, cannons, windmills and other historical attractions, and helping you spot wild horses and donkeys. Pass by Governor’s Beach and the Space Capsule on your way to Cockburn Town, where you’ll stop to enjoy a cool drink (not included in tour price) and food tastings by local merchants. You’ll also have the chance to shop for gifts and souvenirs. Then hop back on the tram to continue north, passing by Her Majesty’s Prison, built in the 1830s, and the National Museum, housed in a colonial building. Travel by Crabtree Park and North Creek on your way to the Grand Turk Lighthouse, perched on the northern end of Grand Turk. Built in 1852, it’s the only lighthouse in the Turks and Caicos. After snapping a few photos, head back down the island. The journey through Grand Turk also takes you past the island’s salt ponds, known as ‘salinas.’ These remnants of the country’s old salt industry are now home to flamingos and other tropical birds. As you go by them on the tram, your guide will tell you about the natural formation of the saltwater ponds and about the history of the industry, which dates back to the 1600s. Your tour ends with return to the tram station.

Carolee provided excellent service—she was responsive, kind, and extremely helpful. We had three people in our group with walking challenges, and she willingly picked them up at the main gate and drove them to the waiting area, which made a big difference in their comfort and experience. The tour began at 9:45, which was later than expected, but it wasn’t a major. Thanks to previous reviews, my expectations were already set for a flexible start time. Our tour guide, Doug, was also fantastic. He was very supportive of family members who needed extra assistance. He even went out of his way to help us find flamingos, which we really appreciated. Overall, the experience was positive.

Doug was our guide. He was awesome, funny and informative. Unfortunately it rained through out the entire trip. The tram had no side protection from rain and everyone was soaked. But still had a mostly good time.

This was such an incredible experience! It was so worth the price and I really felt like we were given wonderful, local insight into this special island. The guides were warm and accommodating, informative and engaging. The only issue was finding the tram once we got off our cruise ship! The instructions were a bit confusing and we had to ask several people to find the right pick-up spot.

The owners Doug and Carly are the nicest people. They are residents of the island and incredibly knowledgeable about its history. Doug made sure we saw the flamingos in the salt ponds and was a great tour guide. We enjoyed the tour so much! Doug was also very kind and helpful in assisting our mother with her wheelchair. It was a great experience enjoyed by all of us!! Thank you Carly and Doug!!

Our guide was excellent. A short delay starting but he gave us plenty of time at our stops. Very informative and easy to understand. We'll worth the cost of this trip and a short walk.

The tour guide/driver was very nice and knowledgeable! But to start they delayed the 9AM tour one hour and had us sit around and wait to combine us with another 10am group. In the second car of the tram the engine noise over powered the sound of the tour guide so we heard nothing. Wish they would upgrade their trams. Signed Disappointed

Doug was our guide. He shared insights and information for the duration of the tour. Unfortunately, we heard very little of it. The speakers on the back tram could not compensate for the noise of the engine. We heard the info when going past the older houses on the way into Cockburn Town. And in places where the tram slowed down. But the majority of the information was lost. We did tell Doug at our first and second stops and he did try to raise the volume on his mic pack, but it didn’t help. So we got from place to place and saw the island, but did not hear any of the stories of the island.
