Our Grand Turk whale watching adventure gives you a front row seat to one of the most impressive shows on earth, here in the Turks & Caicos Islands. You might be lucky enough to witness these beautiful, impressive and gentle humpback whales put on a repertoire of mind blowing behaviours ranging from males’ acrobatic competition for a female, a single male’s haunting pursuit of a mate or a whale mother’s gentle educational displays to a newly arrived calf.
Seeing these amazing creatures live, often at an arm’s length, has changed the lives of many people: let it touch your heart and enrich your way of seeing the world! In water encounters are possible when sea and behavioural conditions are ideal.

Grand Turk
Humpback whale watching season is at its best in between mid January and mid April. You'll board the specially designed and built whale watching vessel at the beach for a 3.5 hour journey out to an area that has had many sightings. The boat has an elevated fly-bridge giving the captain a higher vantage point and increasing the possibility of sightings. The captain will also try to coordinate with other boats in the area. Once whales are located, the boat will head out to where they are and observe them from a distance, being careful not to startle them or disrupt them, whilst giving you a front row seat to the greatest show on earth. Sometimes they will approach the boat and hang around for a while.

5.00I spent some time in Grand Turk and went both whale watching and snorkeling with the whales with Ocean Vibes. I am so impressed by how, ethical, educational, and focused on the whales this team is. Jamie and Rosalie would teach throughout the expedition and take special note to quiet everything down as we approached the whales. Everyone should experience this, I cannot reiterate it enough. I’m definitely planning a trip back this next year and I look forward to seeing the Ocean Vibes crew again.
Great staff and boat. Most responsive company.

5.00We had a great time on the tour. The boat was fast and roomy. The marine biologist guides, Rosalie and Jamie, were knowledgeable and helpful. We saw four pairs of mothers and babies, the fourth pair swimming with an escort. At the second sighting, we were able to get into the water and swim with the whales. Ocean Vibes was the most responsive tour company and helped us book the tour in spite of limited availability.

5.00The crew and naturalist did an amazing job! We saw several whales - mom and calf pairs, competition males, and even heard a singer! Listening to whale song live, in person, was once in a lifetime! Words cannot adequately describe the adventure Ocean Vibes provided, the care and awe the crew had with whales - even though they see them every day!! Our boat even stopped to pick up debris that was a definite entanglement danger! Could not give a higher recommendation - one of the most authentic experiences, for islanders and tourist alike!!

5.00We went on a whale, watching tour with Rosalie and Jamie and the crew. It was absolutely amazing the best decision we have ever made to try this. Their crew is very informative, and very educational of the Wales and how they migrate. We will definitely be going back to Grand Turk and doing this again, especially when they have people on staff like that.

5.00Had a great time whale watching with Ocean Vibes in Grand Turk. Our captain was very experienced and knew where to find whales for us. The marine biologists were very knowledgeable about the whales and taught us so much about these amazing creatures. We were able to swim with them and were lucky enough to have one sing to us! It was an incredible experience and I highly recommend Ocean Vibes when you’re in Grand Turk! Already looking forward to going back next season!

5.00100% recommend this amazing local company. Swimming with Whales in the wild was utterly breathtaking and a bucket list item ticked off for sure. The boat was spacious and comfortable and with only small groups on their public trips we had plenty of space to move around and relax in the sun or shade. The Naturalists on board were super knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I learned so much about the whales which really added to the experience. The Captain knew how to approach the whales respectfully so that we all got some great views and seeing a baby breach was a highlight. This was by far the best excursion of my holiday.

2.00Staff showed up late which cut our excursion time from 3 to 2.5 hours. The winds were high (which I now read is quite common), so we bumped along but never saw anything beyond a shadow and a quick glimpse of a dorsal fin. The pilot didn’t maneuver the boat so anyone other than those at the very front could see even that. The “purpose built boat” doesn’t look any different than the many dive boats along the beach, except that it has more seats. With 60 passengers on the boat they make big bucks so it’s no surprise that they never cancel an excursion even when they know there’s no way they can see whales in the choppy ocean. They are the whale watching excursion for HAL and Princess, so check the forecast a few days before and cancel your reservation if there’s any wind over 10-15 mph forecast. Otherwise, be prepared to be disappointed.
