We pre booked the chocolate factory tour with the chocolate bar making to enjoy while in port on a cruise. We booked directly with Graycliff. When we arrived at Graycliff, we were directed into a room to wait for the tour to begin. We were on time, actually early. We waited an exorbitant amount of time for the tour to start and it started nearly 20 minutes after the stated start time. The tour consisted of three rooms. One where there was information in the wall, one where there was several pieces of equipment, but we were only told about one, and the information was less than stellar. We were simply told that this is where the chocolate starts and we were invited to look into a large pot with chocolate stirring. Then we were moved to the third room where the information given was incorrect about the chocolate, we were told that milk chocolate was just white and dark chocolate mixed up. There was no discussion on the Chocolate making process, no information on where the chocolate is sourced or how it becomes the chocolate we enjoy. There was no information given about the cacao beans or how they are used to make chocolate. The only information given was when the tour guide pointed to an artificial tree and said “this is a cacao tree”. After we left the third room we were escorted back into the second room where our chocolate bar making stations were set up. Unfortunately, because the toppings that were to be used on our “create your own chocolate bar” were not covered up another tour group had access to them and I did not feel comfortable using the toppings. We watched another group go sit at the table that had the chocolate bar makings and touch them. Then the staff did not switch them out for clean, safe, fresh toppings. I was greatly disappointed. Also, contrary to previously mentioned information that we received from Graycliff, when I booked, we were not allowed to use more than one type of chocolate to create our bars. This was also disappointing. After the chocolate bars were made, we were told that they would be ready to take home after 15-20 minutes. We were never informed when to come back, but rather we had to ask if they were ready, and it took more than 30 minutes. When they were finally ready, we went back into the room to box them up. Again, no information or knowledge was imparted to the group. Essentially, we paid nearly $70 per person to pour chocolate from a plastic cup into a mold and waste time in the shop until it set. Absolutely not worth the money or the time. You can purchase a chocolate bar much cheaper and not have to waste time on the pointless tour. Also of note, they are selling repackaged M&M’s as candy coated chocolate. What in the world is a chocolatier doing selling repackaged chocolate that they did not make??

Small chocolate factory where you van see chocolate being made and buy some pretty good stuff. Not terribly exciting or informative.

The chocolate making was so much fun for everyone. We got all of the chocolate we wanted to taste and got to make our own chocolate bars and little cups filled with chocolate. You can tell this is a small business and everyone was genuinely nice. The walk to the factory was nice and it felt safe. Would definitely recommend.

The actual experience is quite expensive but my grandchildren enjoyed making their own chocolate bar. The staff was excellent and very professional. I especial enjoyed the gin chocolate. It was delicious.

Yousemana was amazing!!! Apparently it was the first time for her to give a tour solo, but she presented it like she was a pro at it. All our questions answers, so much good information, and so much good chocolate. She had a great smile the whole tour. Best tour of our time at the Bahamas. Learning about the chocolate making process and the history of the plant was fun.

Super interesting to learn how they make their chocolate. Everyone was super nice and fun to talk with. Obviously, tasting along the way was my favorite part. Fairly short but very informative. Took about 20 minutes from start to finish.

The entire operation is smaller and less elaborate than we anticipated but the tour guide is a very nice kid and the chocolate is delicious!
