We’ll learn about & most importantly TASTE some of the Hungarian Food Tradition through this local experience and I’ll explain the History of the building as well. I’m going to show you and teach you about the Hungarian national food & drink items while strolling through one of the hot spots in Town-the Great Market Hall. I’m going to introduce you to the secrets of some of our national drinks & show you the unique food stands where I’ll explain about the Hungarian paprika culture, get you a SALAMI tray with surprise ingredients in some. We’ll visit the mushroom/herbal/honey stand & of course you can not leave without tasting the famous LANGOS either, which is THE truly Hungarian experience, a deep-fried circular shaped dough with sour cream or/and cheese topping.Of course You must end this culinary journey with a sweet treat,a hand made Traditional Hungarian STRUDEL.Lángos & special Hungarian shot & Hungarian salami sampling & desert is included.Great for group,as well team building.

Central Market Hall
We will explore the Great Market Hall and through our stroll you will taste many typical Hungarian food items including “ Lángos “, “Hungarian salami selection”, “Hand made Hungarian Strudel” plus a surprise drink.
On our way to the Great Market Hall I will explain to you a few interesting historical information about the “Small Ringroad” as we call it, walk you to a remain of the old Medieval city wall and an “ off the beaten track” small ECO park.

5.00A large Covered Market, in the city center, full of perfumes, souvenirs, and places where you can eat. It is spread over two levels, and is definitely worth the visit. On the sides you buy at a more competitive price. Beware of pickpockets, even if much less present than any of our cities...

1.00With less than 24 hours notice, the tour was cancelled due to "weather." However, the weather was beautiful - sunny, 32•C, with a gentle breeze. I went to the Central Market myself. No problems there; merchants were open.

5.00Ester Jeanette is a terrific tour guide with a deep understanding of Budapest food culture. She knows the best stops for tasting langos, salami, and strudel and along the way provides fun and interesting history and facts. The visit to the Great Market Hall was made much richer by doing this tour rather than on our own. Highly recommend!

4.00It is the largest in Budapest. You can buy both raw and cooked food. The ground floor is developed as a real market where you can buy local products, the first floor is full of street food so ready to taste but at fairly high prices. I actually expected more.

5.00Beautiful market hall with 3 floors. You can buy everything there as you are used to at a market. (also wild) But at Christmas it is of course also a Christmas market. You can also eat and drink anything. Definitely worth it!

5.00Esther was great. She showed us around the market and provided excellent tastings of local foods like langos, salami, strudel, liquor and others. We had enough food to equate to a full meal. It was a little expensive for what you get, but on the whole a very good experience that I would recommend to other visitors interested in trying local foods.

4.00We enjoyed the tour with Eszter. We especially loved the langos that we tried! We also enjoyed the special treats and the commentary from Eszter. Unfortunately some stores in the Central Market had closed because we went late in the afternoon.

5.00The architecture of this market Hal is worth the trip. Lots of fresh meats, fruits and veggies. Plus best place to get your paprika and a tote. Worth the stop.

5.00We had Eszter do the tour for us fortunately. She gave us a great explanation of the area and development of the city. After a small drink of some raspberry liquor, we then made our way to the market. We got a history of the market, discussion of Paprika and the types, as well as discussion of embroidery and porcelain. She arranged for some tastes of some oils/pesto and honey. (They produce some excellent honey). We had cured smoked meat and finished with strudel. Eszter was a great and personable guide with excellent English so it was no problem to understand her.
