St. Hripsime church is one of the famous ecclesiastical buildings in the city of Echmiadzin. This is the developed and perfect example of cross-cupola churches in Armenia. Visiting Echmiadzin Cathedral and Zvartnots Temple with my family was one of the most meaningful and memorable experiences of our trip in Armenia. Both places carry an atmosphere that feels calm, spiritual, and deeply connected to history. Our visit to Echmiadzin Cathedral, the spiritual heart of the Armenian Apostolic Church, was especially moving. As soon as we entered the complex, there was a sense of peace that made everyone slow down and take things in quietly. The cathedral itself is impressive without being overwhelming. The ancient stone walls, soft lighting inside, and the sound of prayers created a powerful feeling of continuity, knowing this place has been sacred for centuries. Walking around the grounds with my family, we appreciated how well kept everything was and how respectful the environment felt. Even the children seemed naturally calmer here. After Echmiadzin, we went to Zvartnots Temple, which offered a completely different but equally fascinating experience. The open ruins set against Mount Ararat in the distance were breathtaking. It felt almost unreal to stand among the remains of such a grand structure and imagine how magnificent it must have been in its time. Walking around the site together, we discussed history, architecture, and how advanced the design was for its era. It was both educational and inspiring, especially for a family visit. What made this day special was how both locations complemented each other. Echmiadzin felt deeply spiritual and alive, while Zvartnots felt poetic and reflective, like a window into the past. Sharing these moments with my family made the experience even richer, as it sparked conversations, questions, and quiet appreciation. Overall, visiting Echmiadzin Cathedral and Zvartnots Temple was not just sightseeing but a meaningful family journey through Armenia’s spiritual and cultural heritage. It is an experience I would strongly recommend to anyone traveling with family and wanting to truly feel the soul of the country.

Good professional guide and driver, well paced tour. However the lunch at this tour was not worth the 4500 AMD I paid. The meat option was a little bit sad, paling in comparison to the hearty oven baked chicken from another Hyur service tour’s lunch stop.

I had a really great day! Samuel the driver was so great and helped me walk through the snow! Hike the guide have some really interesting information at all sites. We had a lot of free time at all stops and did not feel rushed. The lunch was great overlooking a beautiful snowy gorge and we saw how fresh gata was made and then all of us ate the freshly caked treat. I highly recommend the tour!

Wonderful experience. It was a beautiful day (the tour is about 4 hours). As it was a Sunday we got to attend the church service which was very moving with beautiful singing. Arpi our guide was very nice and knowledgeable and the driver Khachik drove us safely from and back to Yerevan. I will remember this tour dearly and recommend it 100% !

Despite the rain and wind, the excursion went well: it is an indispensable half-day to understand the birth and spread of Christianity in Armenia. The times are well managed and allow you to appreciate religion, history and art within walking distance of Yerevan. Thanks to the driver Spartak and the guide Marina. Highly recommended!
