Khor Virap
Khor Virap is the most famous pilgrimage site in Armenia, as it is directly connected with the adoption of Christianity. As a state religion, Christianity in Armenia was adopted in 301 due to endeavors of Saint Gregory The Illuminator, who, before converting King Trdat The 3rd to Christianity, was imprisoned in the dungeon, over which a church of Khor Virap monastery was built in the 17th century. From the monastery one can admire the stunning view of the Biblical Mount Ararat.

5.00Great experience! Karen and Aro are very polite, welcoming and entertaining. We spent an amazing day visiting Yerevan’s historical sites, they shared a lot of insights about armenian history, heritage and day to day life. You should definitely book a tour with Hyur if you are around, the cars are very confortable, complementary beverage for the road and on time schedule during the trip. Definitely coming back thanks to them ☀️

I learned so much about Armenian history thanks to our incredible guide, Marina, who was knowledgeable, passionate, and a pleasure to listen to. Our driver, Sam, was also amazing, very professional and made us feel completely safe while getting us everywhere smoothly.
