  So glad we did this layover tour en route to London from Galapagos! Was a little concerned about safety in the city (and had previously cancelled the tour) but luckily locals we met in Quito earlier in our trip advised it would be fine in the city centre, which it was. Felt completely safe and was great to see another city (and meet some lovely people, including our guide Mario!). Mario met us at the airport and gave us a great tour of the city and local culture. He made sure we got back to the airport in plenty of time (and even showed us where the check-in desk was). Really recommend this tour if you have a layover in Guayaquil!

  Thank you, sisters! The tour was very interesting and heartwarming. Our guide, Allyson, was very attentive and knew everything about the history of the country, the city, and interesting facts. Her sister was our driver—we traveled in a comfortable car, and we were met at the airport and taken there on time. The tour left the most pleasant memories! Thank you!

  We did a half-day private tour of Guayaquil between finishing a trip to the Galapagos and flying to another destination, and it was great! Mario is enthusiastic, engaging, knowledgeable and thoughtful, and we not only learned a lot about Guayquil and saw interesting sights, but we also had a very enjoyable time. Furthermore, Mario was very flexible with arrangements and agreed to change the starting time of the tour and to drop us off at the airport to suit our schedule at no extra cost. Mario employed a driver, which made getting to different locations simple. Mario is very well organized and answered all of our email enquiries prior to the tour efficiently and patiently. If you want an insight into Guayquil and an enjoyable time, we highly recommend Mario, and his company, My Trip to Ecuador.

• Fun and informative layover tour at Guayaquil

  Our guide Mario met us at the airport with a professional driver. We had a layover between a flight from the Galapagos and our next flight to Lima of approximately 6 hours. We were able to keep our luggage in the van and were treated to a personalized tour of the City of Guayaquil. In approximately 3.5 hours we saw some of the highlights of the center historic city including the Cathedral, Iguana Park, Riverfront Promenade/Malecon, the artsy Colonial District, a walk up to the lighthouse, even a cable car across the river followed by a quick dinner. Mario is very professional, personable and knowledgeable. We’d highly recommend this tour for people with a long layover and would recommend Mario for other tours of Ecuador

  It was the perfect tour for our layover between flights to/from Guayaquil. Antonio was an excellent guide, who accommodated all our needs. He was both knowledgeable and interesting, explaining the history, culture and geography. He even helped us capture fantastic photos. Iguana Park, with its plethora of free roaming Iguanas, was my favorite.

  It was very good/efficient tour to cover major spots in Guayaquil. Mario was super helpful and friendly. He was also very flexible on my requests. I definitely recommend for anyone who wants to kill couple hours layovers.

  Five stars are not enough! Mario went above and beyond to accommodate us for our Guayaquil tour. From the moment we were met in our hotel lobby through the afternoon in and out of the comfortable, air condition van, Mario and his team insured our time was well spent. We finished with a deeper understanding of the cities, history, culture, and appreciation for its beauty and hospitality. We can’t wait to visit again and see more of Ecuador’s treasures.
