Our guides bring this small Alaskan town’s history to life and the stories of locals like Alaska Nellie, Gold Miner Joe, Mad Sally and the Iditarod Trail provide plenty to ponder as you paddle along the shores of Trail Lake. Whether you’re visiting us from the campground down the street, part of a wedding party lodging here in town, or just passing through on an epic Seward Highway road trip, Moose Pass has so much to offer. There’s no better way to get out and experience the nature and beauty of the area than in our two person kayaks, right here in the heart of the Chugach Mountains!

Iditarod National Historic Trail
We love sharing our knowledge about Alaska. From it's amazing human history to it's rugged geologic past. Trail Lake is located on the Historic Iditarod Trail and we'll even travel under the Alaskan Railroad. Moose Pass and Trail Lake are located right next to the Iditarod National historic Trail. As a matter of fact, when we can, we love to participate on the trail crew to help restore the original trail for hikers and historians to enjoy. It's a dream of ours to one day see this entire trail hikeable from Seward North, just like when it all started! We've got lots of stories to share about this amazing, important part of Alaskan history.
Moose Pass
This little town has quite the storied past. With one of the oldest schools and longest running libraries on the Kenai Peninsula, a grocery store that was moved across town on logs and a lodge and restaurant that started out as the remote Jockey Club, but once had black lights and a disco ball inside. Well, let's just say, there's plenty of things, people and places to talk about. We can't wait.

Awesome experience! Beautiful views. Our tour guide was very personable. She was very knowledgeable about the area. You can't beat the views of Moose Pass Trail Lake. The course was a little tough against the wind. You will definitely get wet!

JD & Jen really went the extra mile to set up our day trip on Trail Lake in their kayaks. From there, the lake and mountains took over - there's not a bad view anywhere on the lake. Their equipment was in great shape. They take great care to put their customers in a situation where they can easily enjoy the experience - and like I said, it's a beautiful setting. I give Moose Pass Adventures a 5 STAR rating ! ! ! ! ! !

Just a wonderful experience for my son (9) and I. A really engaging and informative trip. It was super fun to learn so much about the area. Ending our trip under the trestles with the train overhead was an unexpected treat. We have amazing pictures to remember the beautiful views.

Absolutely amazing experience. Jen is so genuine, kind, and knowledgeable about the history of Alaska and Moose Pass and it was exciting to learn about all of the stories behind the cities and people in the area. It rained and was a bit cloudy during our trip, which personally made it more enjoyable for me (if you want sunny weather, plan accordingly!). Also got to sip on some hot tea when we stopped for a break! Nothing but positive things to say! Thank you so much Jen :)

Jen and JD were super nice. We booked tour without checking the weather, by the time we got to meet them, the rain already started. They careful prepared raincoats and some hot beverages for us. The small delightful touches kept us to stay dry and warm. Jen knows the history inside out, if you want to know a few things about the river, Alaska, and things to do. You are at the right place. ☺️ I would highly recommend them for my friends.

It's definitely a very wonderful experience! Jen and JD are great, knowledgeable, friendly, and lovely! The view itself is breathtaking, and the experience itself is one of a kind! Jen and JD shared many interesting and unique stories, and we were able to see beautiful views, hiked in wild woods, and saw the salmon swimming upstream! I highly recommend them!

Kayaking on Trail Lake with Moose Pass Adventures is a must do! Jen and JD love what they do and they have a ton of knowledge about gold mining, wildlife, glaciers and Alaska in general! The scenery in the area is classic Alaska. Highly recommend!
