A tour that we will never forget!

5.00From booking our tour to our drop off after the tour, we were so impressed with this tour company! This tour consisted of being picked up at our cruise port in an air conditioned, comfortable van. Once all passengers were on, the tour began as we made our way to the river boat launch. The brothers are so knowledgeable and proud of their country. We loved learning about the country, the people, the history, the land and so much more! Once we arrived at the New River boat launch, we were able to use the bathroom facilities before boarding the boat for the river safari portion. What a ride! The guides were able to stop the boat and point out crocodiles, birds, turtles and some interesting plants and trees. We then arrived at the Lamanai National Park and we had a homemade lunch made by their mother. What a special meal to eat, it was delicious and we felt the love that this family has for each other, the tour business and their country. We started the walking tour and again, we learned so much about the animals, the trees and plants. We were able to see the howler monkeys above us on the walking trails! We learned so much Mayan history, of the people, the culture, their way of life, the temples and the land. We climbed all three temples that you can climb, the views are incredible so if you are able, I highly recommend going up each of them! It was an experience that we will never forget. After over an hour at the temples (which is more time than most cruise shore excursions allow) we were able to visit the gift shops for souvenirs and a bathroom break before boarding the boat back to the van. The boat ride back was so fun! We went pretty quickly through the turns of the river and we loved it! The van ride back to the city was nice and we were dropped off right at the cruise port with plenty of time to relax before getting back on our ship. We cannot thank this family enough for sharing so much with us, we felt like a part of the family and you can tell how much they enjoy teaching and sharing the culture, the history, the land and the love that they have for what they are doing. We would definitely reach out to them again anytime we go back to Belize! Our tour was Un-Belize-Able! ;) We recommend this tour to anyone that enjoys learning about the places that you visit in a very personal and authentic way. This was not a scripted tour, this was so much more!
Two Tours in One!! New River Boat Tour and Lamanai

5.00We had about a 1 hour drive from Belize City during which our driver shared a lot of history of the country of Belize. We arrived at the boat launch and began our boat ride up the New River to the Mayan temple of Lamanai. Our captain Ian stopped many times along the way to point out crocodiles, turtles, bats, a variety of unusual birds and plants. Upon arrival at the ruins Ian did a fantastic job of guiding us through each of the excavated areas, explaining their features and roles in the Mayan culture. We were allowed to explore and climb each of the three main temples as well. At the end of our tour we were served a typical Belizian lunch of bean and rice, chicken, slaw, salsa, chips and pop or water. We finished up with the museum and the little gift huts and were back on the boat with a total of two full hours at the site. Total tour time was from 8:00am - 4:00pm. We definitely got our monies worth!! Bring sunblock, they provide water for your hike at the site and lunch. We did not need bug spray in February. Bring binoculars for the boat ride and of course a camera for the ruins.

5.00Julian was so nice, they pick up us from our hostel and hé drops off us at the water taxi where we were in Time to get our boat thanks to him. The tour boat in the new Rio was so nice with a lot of animals observations (crocodiles, many birds, monkeys, iguanas, tortels...). The visit of Lamanai also was cool with his explanations to understand better the maya culture. Thank you Julian y Marco. Eve (from Francia)

5.00The best tour I have taken on my holiday! Julian was an excellent guide - knowledgeable about Lamanai, giving practical advice and making sure everyone enjoyed the tour. Loved the riverboat trip to / from Lamanai too. Great lunch provided and even took me to collect my bags and dropped me at the ferry port! Would recommend. Lamanai is amazing - a real experience. (FYI: if you need to catch the ferry to the islands afterwards you'll be able to get the 4.30pm one. The guide allowed us to bring your bags on the bus)

4.00Our tour guides, Ian and Julian, were very knowledgeable and gave us a great experience. They not only gave us a great sense of the history of the Mayans, but also gave a great history of Belize on our way from Belize City. The only reason I didn’t give a five-star review was that our tour didn’t begin on time, and in fact, took over an hour for us to get started. I was notified the night before that we’d be a half hour late, but we didn’t get up leaving well over an hour after the prescribed time. Once we were on the road, however, the tour itself was great, and very worthwhile. I would recommend this tour to friends with the caveat that this will be your only tour of the day, with travel time and possible wait.

5.00Not your typical ruins tour as you have to travel by speedboat each way so get to experience the wildlife such as birds, trees, and reptiles. The boat ride can be quite windy so might need a jacket.

5.00We had a perfect day. From the pickup truck at the cruise terminal we had an exciting adventure. Lamanai itself is an impressive place, but all the way there is part of this experience. We already got to see many animals during the boat trip. Our guide stopped as soon as he saw something exciting. We would have missed most of it. We were then the first visitors of the day in Lamanai and it just feels special when you are standing all alone (6 adults and 2 children) in the middle of such a historic place. We were allowed (unlike other tours) to climb all temples. The view from the High Temple is impressive. Our guide gave us countless information and the size of the group allowed us to talk directly to him all the time. After an incredibly delicious lunch we headed back home. We have already done many tours with many providers in many countries and have also undertaken a lot completely on our own. This tour is one of the best we have ever done. Lamanai Belize Tours is an absolute insider tip. I would be happy to come back anytime. Thanks for all, you're amazing

5.00Fantastic tour! The boat ride was fun, saw lots of birds, turtles, & a couple crocodiles. The Mayan ruins were beautiful & fun to explore. Our guide, Javier, shared his vast knowledge about the area with us at each stop. He was also great at steering us away from the cruise ship crowds so we could enjoy a more personalized experience. Our lunch was also delicious. Highly recommend this tour!
The rules and nature, we’re very interesting. The boat ride was enjoyable.

5.00Why wife and I enjoyed the trip. The Guides went out of their way to help us and make sure we were able to catch our flight. They showed us a lot of the natural sites, including animals and birds and more. The ruins were extensive and very interesting, the guides were very helpful. We got a lot of help from customer service making sure we could make the tour work for us. I could not recommend them more.

5.00Guide was great lots knowledge going up river and at the Mayan Temples. Not rushed at all. Stopped on river point out wildlife and different things going up river and also walking around all 3 Mayan Temples.
