This trip is the perfect way to start the day!

Stride through Tromsø’s winter wonderland on a guided 2-hours snowshoe trek. Venture out of the city to snow-laden top of the Tromsø Island, get instructions from your guide, don your snowshoes and set out into the deep snow. Follow the trails around forests and hills, and relish the feeling of crunching over, rather than sinking into, the pristine snow. Take a break for photos, learn about the local nature and culture, and savor a hot drink and snack on route.

The tour is designed for people with little or no experience, all level of fitness and skills, suitable for families with children from 8 years old and everybody who loves to be outdoors. Perfect if you have never experienced snow or snowshoeing before.

After a 5-minute drive to the top of the Tromsø island, we first learn how to use the snowshoes and then we start walking into the forest. Our guide will lead you through mostly flat, sometimes slightly hilly terrain. We will have several stops during the walk for photos and to provide you with information about our exciting city and Arctic environment. We will pass through a scenic area in the midst of birch and spruce forests that on several occasions will offer very good views of the beautiful landscape that surrounds our island. We will further have one longer break where we serve 'lefse' (a delicious local sweet snack) and a hot drink to warm you up before we continue our winterly walk.

Lovely walk, taking into account different paces, stopping occasionally for pictures, and nice break in between. Good guide who also knew what to tell about the area. Also because it was the first clear day after a big storm and a lot of snow, we really enjoyed it!

Hiking in the snow, what an experience. The trip to Tromsø turned my attitude towards winter completely to positive. We had a wonderful and unforgettable hike with Tromsø Outdoor. A good track with the right breaks and great explanations of the surrounding area. The Tromsø Outdoor Team has made us Norway enthusiasts.

I highly recommend the guided snowshoe walk. We were a group of six Australians who had never done anything like this before. It was magical walking through the forest as snow was falling. Our guide, Marta, was excellent; patient and very informative. The walk took just over two hours with a few stops for photos and a hot drink and snack. The meeting point instructions were clear. Then there was a short minibus ride to the site for the walk. We have been touring through Finland and Norway - our group agreed the snowshoe walk rates as one of the best activities we've done on this trip. Thank you Marta for a fabulous few hours.

Thoroughly recommend this activity and our Danish guide(sorry, forgot his name) made sure everyone had a great time. The company is extremely professional and really helpful and we would not hesitate to recommend them.

Quick 10 minute drive to a local park where our guide walked us around. Beautiful views and forest paths. We had never snow shoed so this was a nice introduction. Definitely hooked!

Jeppe turned an ordinary afternoon for us into a truly memorable one! He was extremely patient with our clumsy family as we navigated our way around the knee deep snow in the recreational park, for the first time with snow shoes on. We had a 9 y/o with us and he had the best time of his life, especially with the sliding mats and sliding downhill at the end once the snow shoes came off. We don’t ski but snow showing has now given us a new lease of life in winter times and we intend to indulge at every opportunity! Booking through Tromso Outdoor was a breeze too. They are conveniently located and were especially accommodating finding us an activity even though we booked literally the evening prior. The meeting point was easily located and transportation was prompt and comfortable. I would heartily recommend booking with Tromso Outdoor!
