The specie we mostly see during our activity is the Blue Sharks and you will enjoy to swim with them at their own natural habitat or look at them from the boat. Blue Sharks are very curious and pass very close to the boat, spend long periods of time surface swimming, just floating at the surface or in the boat you will experience very close interactions with these beauties.

A very friendly species and one of the most beautiful animal around. We also happen to see Mako sharks, the fastest shark of the Ocean !

The activity have a maximum of 6 people on board to insure that marine life is comfortable and to provide closer interactions with the animals.

We meet at our shop 1 hr before the activity. You'll choose and try on any necessary equipment, and then your guide Silvio will brief you on shark behavior and on the activity rules. Next, we head out for a 15-min check dive in a pristine coastal area—to refresh your snorkeling skills and get more comfortable in the water. After that, we navigate 30 min to 1 hr offshore to start “chumming” (attracting sharks). The wait for the sharks can take from 20 min to a few hrs. In the meantime, Silvio—your marine biologist and shark specialist with over 10 years of experience studying shark and ray behavior, ecology, and conservation—will share fascinating insights about these incredible animals, while you enjoy organic, local snacks and drinks. Once the sharks arrive, the dive lasts around 30 to 45 min, after which we head back. The total duration of the activity is approximately 3 to 5 hrs. This activity is also suitable for experienced free-divers. Your guide is a professional free-diver, and for those with a freediving certification, weight belts are available. Certified free-divers will have access to a vertical cable (max depth: 20m) and will dive in buddy teams. Let's Go Shark!

It was incredible. We have been in the water with sharks many times but the blue sharks are a very special experience, very curious. Silvio is a super biologist and can explain everything to you and always for the welfare of the animals. Go sharks is really very special and it was something of the best we experienced. Unforgettable!

Having “snorkeled” with sharks in several Seas and Oceans, diving with blue sharks in the Atlantic with Silvio and Mafalda was my best experience ever. Mostly due to the deep knowledge and experience of the Go Shark Azores Team. They do love sharks and the ocean and that makes a BIG difference.

We had two amazing tours with Silvio, Mafalda and Rita. We saw jouvenile hammerhead sharks and blue sharks. On Both tours it was an unforgettable experience and the crew did their best that everyone feels comfortable. I was a bit scared of the blue sharks but Silvio helped me a lot so i feel more confident. Of course they also made sure that no animal got harmed or felt bothered during the tours. My husband and I would totally recommend the tours with the Go Shark crew!
Without hesitation, a very good unforgettable experience!

While strolling the dock in Horta, we were immediately drawn to Silvio, Rita and Mafalda’s GoShark storefront. Something about it felt different from the other tour groups. Their passion for the ocean and marine life is truly palpable. They offer smaller, more intimate tours, prioritizing both safety and environmental sustainability. Silvio went above and beyond to ensure that the weather and ocean conditions were suited to my comfort level. The entire GoShark team maintained excellent communication throughout the planning process and made me feel at home before the trip even began—and all the way through the adventure. The shark briefing was both scientific and engaging, filled with valuable information about the sharks we were about to encounter. Silvio, an accomplished marine biologist, is deeply knowledgeable about shark science and conservation, which made the experience all the more meaningful. Silvio knew exactly where to find the sharks. Within just 10–15 minutes, we were in the water, face-to-face with the incredible blue sharks. They are magnificent, graceful, and surprisingly docile creatures. The way Silvio interacts with them is mesmerizing. He constantly monitors both the sharks and his guests, ensuring everyone feels safe, comfortable, and fully immersed in the experience. Rita was so kind and offered some snacks and drinks throughout. On the day of my trip, a well-known underwater film crew, Behind the Mask, joined us. They were a vibrant, fun group that enhanced the entire experience. The fact that they chose GoShark speaks volumes about the expertise and reputation of Silvio and his team. As if the shark encounter wasn’t enough, on the way back we came across a massive school of mahi mahi. Without hesitation, Silvio let our group jump in for yet another unforgettable moment in the water. I cannot recommend this experience highly enough. This is not just a shark encounter—it’s an opportunity to witness the beauty of our planet and gain a deeper appreciation for the ocean and its incredible life. What an experience! My wife and I did this for our honeymoon. It was wonderful. Silvio makes you feel very safe. They dive in first when a shark is found, then you go when it is safe. Mariana, who also works there, was so incredibly helpful and welcoming that it made our day feel so much safer and better. We saw a blue shark, almost 3 meters. They get really close to you! We even saw a sea turtle and jumped out to meet it, it was so cool!

Had a great experience with Silvio he was very helpful and well educated on the animals of the area, also he was very nice . When going in the water with the sharks Silvio makes sure you are safe and comfortable by making sure no shark gets to close and monitoring there behavior. RECOMMEND DOING THIS TRIP

A few months ago I decided to visit the Azores and dive with sharks. I immediately found the Go Shark Azores website. The dive guide, a guy named Silvio, is very nice and will guide you in snorkeling with these magnificent animals. In the water Silvio is very careful about both his guests and the behavior of the animals. We were in the water so long, with as many as four sharks swimming around us. Wonderful experience.

Snorkeling and seeing the fish was amazing. We had never done that before and so for myself and my kids it will be a great memory. Silvio and Bruno were lovely. It was fun to learn from a marine biologist.
