5.00Congreve is truly one of the great gardens. Most any time a visit would be rewarding if you let it seep in. We just stayed for two nights in one of the gate houses. What better way to experience a massive garden than to sleep there? Awesome to be able to be in it during the non-public twilight hours. The gate house was quiet and comfy - with a basket of eggs and bread and coffee to get us started. And the Stables Cafe on site is very high-quality. The staff are lovely and clearly devoted to the place. We got in four two-hour walks. Virtually alone on the Wed-Fri in Mid-March. The 100s of magnolia trees were near their peak show, and the 100s of rhododendrons not far behind - all in a complex woodland setting along the river. Also highly recommend the two-hour Seasonal Tour led by senior gardener Mark Corcoran.

5.00Such a great place to stay. The grounds are amazing and the staff are so friendly. We stayed in the eco-cabins and everything was fantastic. Will be back!!
