Take this interesting tour in the former KGB prison with professional English and Norwegian speaking guide. During the tour you will be able to visit: the former KGB prison, executions chamber, modern exhibitions about resistance movement and deportations and more. Guided tour lasts approximately 1 hour, but you can stay after the tour in the museum to take a look at the pictures and exhibition about deportations, KGB, resistance movement in Lithuania. Entrance ticket to the museum is not included in tour price (6EUR per person).

Norwegian English Guide in Vilnius
The museum was established in the former KGB building, where the crimes of the Soviet regime were planned and executed for fifty years. Visitors can visit: the former KGB prison, the premises where death sentences were implemented, modern exhibitions telling about the loss of independence in the middle of the 20th century, repressions by Soviet authorities, and the self-sacrificing and persistent fight for independence. We will walk in the former prison where political prisoners were kept and tortured. You will see where and how they were killed. One chamber of 19 is dedicated to jewish Holocaust, because 1941-1944 the buiding was used as the German Gestapo and SD headquarters and a prison, barracks of the Sonderkommando of the city of Vilnius, which killed Jews and others. At 2018 September Pope Francis ended his visit in Lithuania at KGB museum and prayed for the victims of the Soviet regime in Lithuania. The price for the tickets 6EUR is not included in the tour price.

5.00Reminded me of the struggles for Lithuanian independence which has made them vigilant in protecting their dignity and culture. There is a strong sense of pride and conservatism in Vilnius, an atmosphere of strength and resilience.

5.00Perfect, wonderful, 100% real, mostly because the KGB conducted its operations in this very building, with the cells in the basement. An essential visit if you visit Vilnius

5.00I recommend this visit, which is necessary, which allows us to know more about this part of history. The signs are well made. Nevertheless, the welcome of professionals is not pleasant...

5.00If you are in Vilnius carve out an hour to visit this museum which is semi-centrally located in a beautiful building just behind Gedimino prospekt. You will see the cells used to imprison Lithuanian patriots, the execution room, maps and period documents as well as very detailed historical descriptions. 6 euros well spent Visited Sunday, 20 October 2024 morning

5.00Excellent tour. I highly recommend. Fascinating content and history telling. Lucas was very passionate and knowledgeable, which made his explanations about the awful history of KGB very fascinating. Both myself and my daughter really enjoyed it. 5 stars!
