Book this magnificent Oleotourism activity and discover the passion for traditions, history and Olive Culture in Jaén.
With the guided tour of the Museum of Olive Culture you will be able to discover with a specialized guide, the different spaces of the museum where the garden with more than 30 different varieties of olive tree stand out, the operation of the original milling and pressing systems of the late nineteenth century along with other tools and tools of the field. Finally you can visit “The Cathedral of Oil”, the winery of the mill, declared a Cultural Interest in 1992.
After the tour of the Olive Museum we will hold an Initiation Workshop to the Oil Tasting, in which we will learn to recognize the main organoleptic characteristics of oils putting ourselves in the skin of professional tasters. We will have the necessary materials (tasting chips, pencils, apple, water, tasting glasses).

5.00We went from Bilbao, for a vacation, and we stopped by the museum. We really enjoyed learning about this topic, and seeing how oil was made in the past. The girls who are there are very nice with explanations, tasting, etc... It's worth it.

4.00We thought the museum itself was definitely worth it! Beautiful old olive presses whose operation you could watch on video. We had also paid 6 euros per person extra to taste olive oils. This was an exaggeration for what you get back: 3 olive oils to dip in with some bread, with a little explanation from the teacher at the till (who had to answer phones constantly and welcome new guests). Just keep it on the museum tour!

5.00This place is a true hidden gem. A long way off the beaten path but, the plus side, not busy (certainly during our 1st Jan visit we saw two other couples). We were lucky enough to have Monica as our guide and made a fabulous job of walking us through the exhibits and bringing the olive oil story to life. Highlights were the ‘cathedral’ (vast inground oil storage tanks) , the original equipment used to manually grind, squeeze and distill the oil. Tough times for those people….no wonder olive oil is so expensive🥲 Don’t miss the olive oil tasting to round off the visit….certainly an eye opener to what constituents a good oil verse a supermarket refined product

3.00Visit the building with the explanation of the guide. Very didactic. It is very hot inside there are no fans, also some video or mini movie is missing during the visit. The tasting mey brief, only 3 oils. BREAD IS MISSING. At least accompany it with good bread. And it would be nice to do a tb tasting of the olive variety.
You can't come to Jaen and not know this place

5.00A real pleasure to take a guided tour of this place. Unique pieces that you won't be able to find anywhere else. Fully recommended. In addition, we also met the city of Baeza, which is practically next door and we loved it.

5.00We're from the area, but we've never been down. We were surprised for the good the museum and, highlighted, the garden. Also, the very professional staff.
It's worth a visit. Enlightening to understand the structure and importance of olive cultivation.

5.00We visited on short notice on a Sunday. We were the only guests, yet we could perceive everything. The audio guides were in German and understandable. The videos on site are in Spanish with English subtitles. This is a bit difficult because it is very fast and the technical language requires a little more time to understand. The olive oil tasting would not have been possible originally because the English-speaking employee was not present on Sunday. Nevertheless, the young lady at the reception allowed us to have a tasting with the technical possibilities of the Internet translator. This was very committed and led the visit to the hoped-for success. Unfortunately, the new facilities cannot be visited. Some information about working in the olive groves during the year, such as cutting, tillage and monoculture, would have been interesting.
