Witness the dawning of a new day atop Haleakala (the house of the sun) a dormant volcanic mountain overlooking Maui on the east side. Deep canyons and slopes and unspoiled terrain are home to endemic Hawaiian Nene geese and rare Silversword plants.
You'll be transported in a comfortable mini coach to 9,740 feet elevation, close to the summit to witness the ultimate sunrise; a spectacular show of lights and colors. The sunrise tour is an unforgettable experience and a definite must-do on your Hawaii vacation. On the descent, marvel at sprawling scenic views of Kula and the Pacific Ocean on your way to breakfast at local favorite, Cafe O'Lei at the Plantation in Waikapu.

Haleakala is known for rapidly changing weather conditions and dense clouds and rain are common. As a result, clear viewing of the sunrise is not guaranteed, and the tour operates rain or shine. Refunds will be granted only when the tour is cancelled for safety reasons.
The high altitude at the summit area may complicate health conditions and breathing difficulties. Elderly visitors, pregnant women, young children, and those with respiratory or heart conditions should consult their doctor prior to touring. Walk slowly and drink water to avoid dehydration. If you have gone scuba diving, you should wait at least 72 hours before going on this tour.

4.00Preston was great as a host, helper, tour guide, and driver. However, the online brochures and other ads do not stress how the wind factor would be so strong. Most of us did not layer enough clothing. All in all it was informative and the breakfast was very delicious.
Early start of a wonderful day, need to see!

5.00The experience was amazing and well worth the early morning start. A great tour starts with an experienced and engaging tour guide. Preston is the man! Once on top of the crater, the adventure began with brilliant, dazzling stars hanging in the clear sky. Then we embraced the rising sun and all its glory. It’s a must see tour. Just a note to dress warm, if you think you have enough clothes…bring more! And don’t forget about your ears, hands and pack a jacket to block the wind. Enjoy!!

5.00The weather was perfect and our Guide Preston was Excellent! He was so thoughtful, passionate and informative that I would do it all over again as long as he was our Guide. So much historical information. He offered up all kinds of information about the mountain, cattle drives, Hawaiian Culture and so much more. Breakfast was great and in a beautiful setting to boot. Highly recommended! Just dress warm!
