Witness the dawning of a new day atop Haleakala (the house of the sun) a dormant volcanic mountain overlooking Maui on the east side. Deep canyons and slopes and unspoiled terrain are home to endemic Hawaiian Nene geese and rare Silversword plants.
You'll be transported in a comfortable mini coach to 9,740 feet elevation, close to the summit to witness the ultimate sunrise; a spectacular show of lights and colors. The sunrise tour is an unforgettable experience and a definite must-do on your Hawaii vacation. On the descent, marvel at sprawling scenic views of Kula and the Pacific Ocean on your way to breakfast at local favorite, Cafe O'Lei at the Plantation in Waikapu.

Haleakala is known for rapidly changing weather conditions and dense clouds and rain are common. As a result, clear viewing of the sunrise is not guaranteed, and the tour operates rain or shine. Refunds will be granted only when the tour is cancelled for safety reasons.
The high altitude at the summit area may complicate health conditions and breathing difficulties. Elderly visitors, pregnant women, young children, and those with respiratory or heart conditions should consult their doctor prior to touring. Walk slowly and drink water to avoid dehydration. If you have gone scuba diving, you should wait at least 72 hours before going on this tour.

5.00Very comfortable and relaxing trip to see a beautiful sunrise! Alfredo was funny and knowledgeable and got us the best spot to view the sunrise. It was definitely cold- dress warmer than you thought- I wish I had brought gloves. There is a restroom there too. Thank you Alfredo/Al Pacino!

5.00Preston was an amazong tour guide. He was able to share local stories, history and facts made the tour one that will stay with us. We saw so much of maui that we would have otherwise missed. The sun rise was beautiful. We were blessed to have a clear and calm morning but it was still chilly. Wear layers, beanie, and gloves. Would definitely do again!!

5.00The bus picked us up promptly at 2:45 and we were on our way. The way up the driver was pretty quiet as we were all tired which I appreciated. Little nap as we drove up the mountain. We did make a stop to use the restroom on the way. We got a great viewing spot to see the sunrise and waited for about an hour until it actually came up. It started to get more busy 20 minutes after we showed up so it was nice that we got there when we did. Overall, I wish that I was more prepared with bundling up. That was an error on my part for not fully researching how cold it gets. Highly recommend bringing a blanket, wearing warm socks & a warm jacket.

5.00Amazing Haleakalā sunrise experience! It was incredibly cold before sunrise, but once the sky started changing colors above the clouds, it became absolutely unforgettable. The views throughout the tour were stunning and the whole experience felt very peaceful and surreal. Alfredo was a fantastic guide — friendly, organized, and made the long early-morning trip smooth and enjoyable. Breakfast afterward was also a great way to warm up and relax after the summit. Highly recommend this tour if you’re visiting Maui!

5.00This is a must do experience. Probably one of the coolest things I've seen in my life. Al was an exceptional tour guide and really brought the experience to life. Pictures don't do the experience justice.

5.00Amazing... one of those once in a lifetime type of experiences. . It was great with the tour group since it's all planned out. You just have to sit back, relax & enjoy the stories, scenery & experience. Breakfast was good ending at The Mill House. Our tour guide Alfredo (Al Pacino) was Great.

5.00Smooth driving made it a peaceful experience to get there. I even was able to get some shuteye. The driver was also informative and entertaining. I have driven myself and family up to the peak several times previously but would definitely recommend this over driving yourself.

5.00This sunrise tour is an absolute must do! I’ve been lucky enough to visit the Hawaiian Islands several times, and this was hands-down my favorite excursion I’ve ever done. Watching the sunrise above the clouds was truly unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Even more importantly, our guide, Alfredo “Al” Pacino, was incredible. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about Hawaiian history. Al also navigated the winding roads flawlessly. The highlight of the day was hearing Al sing a beautiful Hawaiian song just as the sun came over the horizon. It made the moment even more magical and unforgettable. To top it all off, the breakfast at the plantation at the end of the tour was beautiful and absolutely delicious. I would do this exact tour again in a heartbeat!

5.00Sunrise in Haleakala was awesome! Preston made the trip fun, informative & memorable. It was an early morning, but with Preston driving, we got to snooze all the way up to the crater. He shared island info & allowed us to snap beautiful pics on the way to breakfast. Breakfast was delicious!
