A stroll down the bustling alleys of Souq Waqif provides an authentic taste of traditional commerce, architecture and culture. The maze of small shops offer a dazzling array of Middle Eastern merchandise from spices and seasonal delicacies to perfumes, jewellery, clothing, handicrafts and a treasure trove of souvenir bargains. National Museum of Qatar

In the course of Doha’s development into a global financial, cultural and tourism center, a new national museum was built in the capital of Qatar. Due to its size and geometric complexity, the building designed by Jean Nouvel required the highest standards of planning and installation of the building envelope. The basic idea of the design was the complex, rosette-like structures of so-called sand roses – structures that form naturally in the desert during the evaporative crystallization of gypsum.

Noor did a wonderful job of tailoring the tour to the unique interests of those of us on the tour (2). He was informative and very patient. I particularly enjoyed hearing his perspectives on life in Qatar when asked. I hadn't planned on taking the tour but plans changed and I'm very happy that they did. What a wonderful experience! Our tour guide treated us to a local chai, gave us some great insight into the culture and landmarks. He was kind enough to help us find specific souvenir shops catered to what we were looking for.

Very quiet tour, where you got to know in a few hours the best of Qatar. Akhtar was 5 stars and the whole tour went peacefully. I recommend, especially at night, to withstand the heat.
