El Yunque Rainforest is Puerto Rico’s largest nature reserve and not easy to explore on your own. Meet your guide in Fajardo and follow them into the rainforest in your own vehicle.
Get ready for a fun and active hike that leads you to two stunning waterfalls. The first features a rope swing and spots for free diving. The second offers a natural rock waterslide and a thrilling cliff jump. Along the way, your guide will share fascinating insights about El Yunque’s rich history, unique wildlife, and lush vegetation.

IMPORTANT: Our activity is designed for people between 10 and 60 years old with excellent physical condition. You have to be able to walk by your own in uneven surfaces. For safety reasons, people who are overweight, have previous injuries, are pregnant, or have health problems are not allowed to participate. Evidence of age via license or birth certificate will be required to ensure compliance with these requirements. Furthermore, no exceptions or refunds will be made to those who fail to comply with these conditions.
You need to have your owned/rented vehicle in order to participate in this tour as transportation is not provided.
Participants must be physically capable of walking thru steep, rocky, muddy and uneven surfaces without assistance.
This tour operates based weather and river conditions. In the event of poor weather, you will be offered an option to reschedule or refund.
Use of lifejacket and helmet is mandatory.
If you are arriving by taxi or Uber, please ensure that the driver waits for you until the activity is finished, as you will not be able to request a taxi or Uber from the activity location because they do not go there.
On Saturdays the hike is longer and more challenging since we depart from a different point.
Our company reserves the right of admission - If a person appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, not following instructions, causing disruptions, or providing false information, such as lying about their age, the guide has the right to cancel their reservation at any moment. In such cases, no refunds will be issued. We prioritize the safety and enjoyment of all participants and expect honesty in all aspects of the booking process.
Persons with the previously listed health restrictions cannot participate on the tour. No refunds will be authorized if a person neglects to read complete description and does not meet the safety requirements and limitations on the day of the tour.
Personal Belongings Policy for the Rainforest Excursion: At our Rainforest Excursion, the safety and experience of our guests are our top priorities. Due to the nature of the activity—which involves hiking, water contact, and constant movement in a natural environment—we strongly recommend that participants do not bring any personal belongings unless absolutely necessary. While we do allow the use of prescription glasses for those who need them for vision, all other personal items should be left in a secure location before the excursion.
Liability Waiver: Our company is NOT responsible for the loss, damage, or misplacement of any personal belongings during the excursion. We understand that the nature of the tour involves activities that may increase the risk of losing items, such as walking on uneven terrain, swimming in the river, sliding on rocks, and jumping into the water. If a participant chooses to bring personal items, they do so at their own risk. We will not be able to stop the excursion to search for lost items in the forest or river. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in ensuring that everyone enjoys a worry-free experience.

We meet our clients at Parque de Pelota Los Naranjos in Fajardo. Here, you can park for free and wait comfortably for our guide in the parking lot. It is very important to arrive 15 minutes early to ensure you don't miss the opportunity to join the activity. Once the guide arrives, they will meet you in the parking lot so you can follow them in your vehicle to El Yunque.
El Yunque Hiking Area
Upon arrival, our certified tour guide will lead you through this amazing secret spot of "El Yunque". In this area you will explore through the mud trails and lush green of the rainforest. The hike will take approximately 1.5 miles in total and will take approximately twenty minutes to reach the first bathing area and another fifteen minutes hiking on rocks to get to the water slide. We’ll spend around 2 hours to 2 hours and 30 minutes inside the rainforest where we’ll be swimming, swinging from the rope like Tarzan, sliding down a natural waterslide, cooling off under the waterfall and jumping from different cliffs.

5.00This hike is no joke. The path down to the main watering hole is steep and narrow. Once you get to the main watering hole, that's where you can decide if you want to do the cliff jumping into the water, the rope swing or the waterfalls slide. The cliff jumping and rope swing is right there so you can climb up to those- which is a bit tricky but the guide can help you up. The climb/hike to the waterfalls slide is quite a bit longer and very arduous - climbing over steep, slippery rocks where you have to be able to pull yourself up and navigate the area. We were in a group of 14 and only 5 of us did this part. You really do need to be in good shape to participate in the full experience. Adrian was our tour guide and he was fantastic! High energy, encouraging, supportive and focused on safety. For the most part, he told us what to expect. There were a few times where we didn't fully understand what he was telling us to do or we were not expecting. The group that went to the waterfalls also got to swim through a very narrow hole which was a bit scary (my daugther's helmet got stuck and she freaked out) and probably unneccessary- it didn't really add to the experience. And then on the way back to our cars, the gates were closed so we had to hike through the river and by that time, we were pretty wiped out and ready to be done. Our tour was supposed to last 2.5-3 hours but from start to finish, it was 4 hours because we started late (some members of the tour didn't do their waivers ahead of time). All in all, my kids (age 16 and 12) loved it!

5.00Went on the adventure with my kids. To begin with the communication was excellent. I knew what to expect. The trip guide Myrllam Siré was very prompt, very polite. It was clear she enjoyed her job. Myrllam was really fun and engaging with the group and made the whole adventure fun for everyone. I would recommend this adventure to everyone, and especially Myrllam as a tour guide. Thank you Myrllam for making this a great, memorable experience for my family!!

5.00We were here for a short trip and wanted to get an excursion in before we left for our evening flight and this was a great choice. We left at 6:30 and got back to our hotel at about 11:45 just in time for our late check out. Myrllam was such a great tour guide, the hike up told us about the different plants and the benefits of the plants to people and its environment. I felt safe the entire time, the tour company were great with communication and it was a great end to our mini trip.

5.00We loved our guided rain forest tour at El Yunque. Our tour guide was Adrian, and he is wonderful. He was very communicative before the tour about when/where to meet, and made sure we all completed our waiver prior to the tour. Adrian is very friendly and personable. His personality is perfect for a tour guide. He was very clear about safety and gave us a lot of interesting information about the rain forest during our tour. My family members loved the water slide / cliff jump / rope swing. I enjoyed visiting with people in the water below. I highly recommend Viator / Tours Hacker and Adrian for this experience. It was one of the highlights of our vacation.
