Group lessons with Soul Surf School are a great way to experience surfing some of our world famous breaks in a group setting. We have a number of beaches to chose from in the Byron/Lennox/Ballina area, and our team are dedicated to finding the best, fun and safest waves every day.
We run the lowest ratio of instructors to surfers in the area, at 1:7 for adults and from 1:4 for little ones. This ensures that all our surfers receive plenty of attention, individual feedback and all the groms are safe in the water.
We have a great range of equipment, with over 80 fun safe soft surfboards and intermediate to advanced boards that will help you to learn faster and catch lots of waves.
Minimum age 13yo.

Our half-day lesson is a great way to get your surf career started! MINIMUM AGE 13YRS! For kids under 13yo please contact us. Our lessons are specifically designed to teach you to surf at your own pace in a relaxed environment to build further self-confidence so you can continue in the sport of surfing and feel confident in the water. You will learn surfing techniques and ocean safety with our qualified surf coaches & surf life savers. All instructors have vast knowledge of the local area and will only conduct lessons in surf conditions in waist deep water with easy and to ride waves in your first lesson. At Soul Surf School we deliver lessons to adults, families, couples, groups and kids 5yrs old and above. If you're an INTERMEDIATE or ADVANCED surfer and/or want to have the lesson tailored to your specific needs, please give us a call for further advice. 5.00This surfing lesson was amazing, except that it lasted for less than 3 hours only (it was shown as 4 hours in Viator). Thanks so much to my excellent instructor Kai, who gave very clear teachings and took good care of us as beginners. It is important to remember the movement from lying to standing on the surfboard and the posture to keep our balance when we stand up. Overall, I can’t believe how fun surfing is and I could stand up on the surfboard and ride my first wave!!😆

5.00Max, Matt and Jo were amazing instructors. Made the lesson fun and explained everything. Managed to stand up and surf a few times. Made the trip even better by stopping by Tea tree lake for a quick dip. Would defo recommend

5.00I had such a fun surf lesson and I’d totally recommend this surf school! The vibe was super relaxed and friendly, and even as a beginner I felt really comfortable. A special thanks to Simon our instructor, he was awesome! He helped everyone, was super enthusiastic, and gave individual tips to help us improve. His enthusiasm and encouragement made the lesson so much fun.
