Native form French Polynesia, humpback whales return to Moorea’s waters every year. Here, they give birth to their baby calves before embarking for a new migration southwards. Are you ready to immerse yourself in their mystic universe? After a safety briefing on approaching the cetaceans in the water, we’ll be off in search of humpback whales along the coast. During your expedition, you’ll have a chance to observer humpback whales. Swimming is not compulsory - you can observe from them the boat if you prefer to. Our certified crew will launch the swim only after assessing that the approach conditions are favorable. Our priorities are the respect for animals and your safety. ***Our boat has a maximum capacity of 12 people. However, new 2025 French Polynesian regulations allow us to take up to 6 people into the water at a time. If more people join the tour, participants will be split into two groups, with one group swimming with the whales at a time***

Unfortunately, it was a windy day so we weren’t able to swim with the whales, although we did see them out of the water. I only gave three stars because they were only supposed to take six of us and they allowed other people who came up at the last minute to join us so we had to take turns getting in the water as only 6 are allowed at a time. It was disappointing to sit and wait for the second group of 6 to finish their dive before we could get in. The crew did try diligently and stayed out longer than they should have to try and get close to the whales.

Wonderful experience. Very friendly and professional crew. We felt safe and comfortable throughout the whole cruise. Highly recommended service! We were very lucky to see a baby humpback from very close distance multiple times. Surpassed our expectations by far 😁

Whale tour with Tama, Noemie and the capi just amazing! Respect for nature and the whale remains a priority for Tama which makes the moment even more magical. The guides are super funny and pleasant with a lot of knowledge. If you want to have an unforgettable time, full of love, laughter and magic I recommend Tama thoroughly!

The most unforgettable and mystical experience of my life! At one point I became sandwiched between mom and baby and as baby swam by, her pectoral fin nearly brushed my cheek! Touched by magic❤️ Truly an amazing moment that I will never forget. Thank you, Tama Tours!!!!

We booked this tour on my birthday and it did not disappoint. The crew was awesome and knew right where to put us in the ocean, so that the humpback whales would pass right by us. We saw the father, mother and calf swim right past us. This was truly an unforgettable experience and one that I will never forget. I highly recommend this whale tour with Tama Tours.

Tama tours excelled well beyond my expectations. I spent three half days with Tama and his crew. They were all fantastic, professional, and made the most out of our time together. We were able to experience multiple humpback whales up close in their natural habitats - all experiences I will never forget! I HIGHLY recommend Tama Tours. If you're on the fence, just book it. You won't regret it.

Tama our captain & Noemi our guide were professional and respectful of the ocean and whales. They are very knowledgeable of the ocean and made sure we had a memorable experience. We got so close to a mama and calf, but it’s important to be grateful for being in the mana of the ocean and you will be looked after. Thank you for your manaakitanga (hospitality).

Incredible afternoon out- swam with a few whales and it was really an incredible experience. The staff were great too. I would highly recommend. Just be ready to swim and bring good fins!

Had a great day finding and swimming with humpback whales. The crew was knowledgeable and worked hard to find whales with great success. We really enjoyed the day and as well, met some nice people.
