Experience a 5.5-hour guided tour to Martinborough, one of New Zealand's premier wine regions.
Departing from Wellington, the tour follows the Hutt River through the Hutt Valley and over the Remutaka Ranges, with a sightseeing stop at the Summit (555m). In the Wairarapa valley, the winery town of Martinborough awaits, where you'll visit THREE of the region’s top wineries to enjoy their Cellar Door experiences and sample world-class wines. Your driver guide will provide narration and share local knowledge about this stunningly beautiful area throughout the journey.

5.00A very enjoyable tour to 3 Martinborough wineries. Gary, our tour guide was a very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable guide and we enjoyed his commentary on our journey out of Wellington. We liked that the chosen wineries all had a different approach to the tasting experience but our favourite was Poppies as we were given more information about each wine and how it was made etc. Lunch at Moy Hill was good but suggest if you have allergies that you ensure that information is given when booked as there isn’t a big choice available. We appreciated that Gary was able to stop a couple of times for us to take photos on our way home. And because our group kept to the time schedule, we were able to make a quick stop at the wine shop in town to buy some bottles as well as at C’ est cheese in Featherstone. We would definitely recommend this tour as it is a great way to see some of the Waipuira Valley outside the Wellington environs and of course- being able to taste some good wine and cheese. Thank you, Gary, for a fantastic day.

5.00We had a fabulous day on this tour. Our amazing tour guide Gary was a wealth of knowledge. We learnt so much about Wellington, surrounds and the wine region. We had great chats and he answered all our questions with lots of local insights. All the vineyards we attended had a great selection of red and white wines to taste and the lunch we ordered at one of the vineyards was delicious. Highly recommend this tour, we loved it.

5.00We thoroughly enjoyed our small group tour to the Martinborough Wine region. The small group allowed us to easily make decisions for the helpful suggestions our driver Stephen offered. He was a great guide and shared information about the region and New Zealand. Zozo Tours accommodated our cruise ship arrival schedule and was very communicative prior to our arrival. Highly recommended.

5.00A great experience. Our driver/guide Athena was knowledgeable, engaging and fun. She shared historical and cultural information as we drove up the Hutt Valley, over the Remutaka range (with a brief stop for photos and views at the summit), down through Featherston, into the wide Wairarapa plain and through the quaintly touristy town of Martinborough. We visited three wineries for generous and informative tastings. The first two wineries were small, boutique affairs, very high quality wines. The second, Moy Hall, included plenty of time for a delicious lunch at Martinborough's top winery restaurant -- superb food and gorgeous surroundings! The final winery was a larger, more commercial operation. Its wines were good but not stellar like the others. The service was rushed and moderately knowledgeable unlike the expert, patient service at the first two. The drive back to Wellington featured a stop at an excellent, picturesque cheese shop in Featherston. Athena was wisely quiet the rest of the way back, as we were all sleepy and sated. Billed as a half day, it's closer to a full day: we were picked up at our hotel of choice around 930 am, and dropped off around 4 pm. Highly recommended.

5.00A fantastic relaxing and informative day out in the vineyards. Phillip was our guide for the day and ensured we kept to time. Loved the three wineries we visited and each presenter was enthusiastic about their wines...was even tempted to buy some! A great day for a large group of friends with wonderful wine, food and transport...thanks Phillip.
