Join this small-group cycling tour to explore the countryside of Penang, Balik Pulau. The tour will start at 7am from your hotel where we will transfer you to Balik Pulau. Exploring the town by bicycle has all the advantages of going by foot, combined with a much greater action radius and cooling breeze. If you want to experience Balik Pulau hideaways and countryside, touched by the charm of Malaysian way of country life at personal level, bicycle is a great way to do it. This tour will bring you to see local life in the Penang countryside. Away from Balik Pulau town there is a labyrinth of minor roads, pathways and alleys. Cyclists are treated as pedestrians, so you can use bicycle to explore fruit orchard, plantation, mangrove, fishing village and dozens of traditional Kampung in Penang.

5.00Easy flat 6 mile route on proper paths with informative guide Eddie through fishing village and countryside on the western side of Penang. Great to get away from Georgetown and see a quieter side of Penang and local life.

5.00Very enjoyable morning ride with our guide Eddie. Pick up from my hotel was on time. Ride was through a scenic rural environment on track or quiet roads which were flat. Eddie was extremely knowledgeable about the local economy and explained trends in Malaysian agriculture and society. Having missed breakfast I appreciated the stop for snacks and drinks. Small group of riders.

5.00This is an excellent tour. The guide is very well informed and provides some very insights into life Penang and Malaysia in general. The bicycles are basic, however more than adequate for the tour.

5.00Great experience. Easy flat cycle through countryside. (No gears provided or needed) Guide was relaxed, chatty and informative. Highly recommend this trip - get out of George Town and see the countryside.

5.00Beautiful experience, which allows you to discover the hinterland in an original and non-invasive way. A real joy to pedal between the forests of palm trees crowded with monkeys. Our guide, TC, was fantastic, very kind and very interesting. The only part we didn’t like was visiting the farm, which is a kind of zoo, with animals locked up in a sordid way. Everything else was great, we were a small group of 8, which was ideal. We highly recommend this activity.

4.00The guide was very informative & friendly. He really knew the area well & timed the outing well around some rain. Definitely recommend this trip - the bike riding was very easy level stuff.
West side of Penang Island

5.00On the western side of Penang Island there was abundant nature and the livelihood of the people living in the area. Recommended for those who want to get through the traffic and congestion on the east side and get an Asian feel. I also learned a lot about Malaysia's agricultural products and economy from my guide, Audie, who explained it well.

5.00Our guide, Eddie was friendly, professional and our morning was very relaxed. Lovely riding through the countryside and small villages. Eddie was happy to pass on his local knowledge, which we valued so much.

5.00Nice relaxed countryside cycle. Loved how we were just out among fields and little villages. Great way to spend the morning. Easy cycling and breeze keeps you coolish. Best bit the fishing village. Not so fussed on the pet farm

5.00Had a lovely morning on the tour. Eddie is fun, safe and incredibly knowledgeable. I learnt so much about Malaysia and had a fun cruisey bike ride. Would recommend!
